“Small but Big on Friendlyness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

Stayed here for four nights from the 3rd to the 7th June, arriving at 2.30AM to a very warn greeting offering any help that may be needed. there were a few different faces on the reception whilst we were there, & each one was fantastic. The breakfast was serve quickly and very hot with efficient staff.

Plenty of bars & restaurants close by with a great Wetherspoons close by called the Quayside, but the hotel room was nice & quiet.

Room Tip: We booked an Executive Room for the Wi-Fi room 216, no nice views but very quiet

Just stayed at the 48-52 Waterside Hotel B&B, quayside Newcastle upon Tyne! Very friendly, helpful and a service with a smile, stayed here for three nights four days and I cannot fault the hotel, staff and the morning breakfast at all.

The staff are very helpful especially if you want plan a day trip to Alnwick Castle ( HARRY POTTER FILMS ) in NORTHUMLAND and to BEAMISH in county Durham. Stay here and you'll be very happy as well

Room Tip: The rooms at the back are quiet! But to honest the are is quiet anyway especially after peak hour

My partner and I have just spent a weekend at the hotel and had to put a review forward for it. from the minute we walked out of the lift when we first arrived until the moment we left - we had a great experience.
EVERY member of staff seemed to be very friendly and forthcoming - offering assistance in any way they could. Staff walked around the place singing and appeared to be happy at there work (which not a lot of people seem to do nowadays). The breakfast certainly hit the spot - the room was a decent size and had loads of tea, coffee etc (if you like that). Off street parking right across from the hotel was a welcome bonus (and it was free) unlike other hotels in the area I have stayed in!!!
We will certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Has been stated on previous posts for the hotel not to get a room at the front - we were on the 3rd...

receptionist was brilliant throughout the stay from firstly talking us to the car park from to dealing with wifi problems and finding camera shops, nothing was too much trouble.
Located on the river and surrounded by restaurants , cafes and bars the location is great. Breakfast was good and plentiful and piping hot !
Rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The room was a little too warm but opening the window solved that.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back are quieter as they do not overlook the street.

Had a fantastic time in Newcastle. The Waterside Hotel was an excellent choice. Reasonably priced, great room and superb breakfast. Well worth a visit. Will definately be back. Staff very friendly and could not do enough for you. Hotel very centrally placed for the town centre. Bit of a hill to climb to get there, but well worth it. There was the quayside market on Sunday and it was right outside the hotel. Great bargains and lots of unusual stalls.

Good value for money hotel in great location on the Quayside with plenty of restaurants on the doorstep as the hotel is only bed and breakfast. Girls on reception and in the dining rooms are very friendly and the quality of food is okay. Rooms beginning to show signs of wear and tear and need a little tlc. However the price is good and free parking opposite .

Room Tip: rooms to the rear to avoid traffic noise. All rooms the same, so don't pay extra for executive r...

Stayed for one night on business in Newcastle...
Receptionist excellent. Off street parking ok...in what is a built up area.
Bedroom was small but quite clean. Wetroom area for the shower...needs grab rails. If there is a producer and fitting service for grab rails in bathroom...there are plenty of hotels needing them.....I always seem to find the ones without such safety features.....

Couldnt sit at the dressing table and see into mirror..unless I was 6 foot tall.....the stool isnt high enough....

Breakfast was being served late on the Saturday..so only fruit and tea available.

Overnight..the thump thump thump of the drums in the night club across the road....its a listed building..so cant be fixed.....but there are ways of lessening impact.....and sympathetically done...would transform sleep quality.......
Would I stay again.....no, thank you.
