“Coconut ice cream, lovely”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

Had an Indians at the original Solomons in West Denton years and years ago, so when I found myself hungry after a full day with the kids and we were coming home via Heaton, well had to try it...
We were the first ones in and made to feel very welcome, the waiter talking football with my son as he had a Newcastle top on...food came quickly, starters were delicious, as were the mains that folowed as well, really cant fault the food, or the service.
The icing on the cake for me was the coconut ice cream afterwards, never had it before, tasted lovely and took the heat away from the cury nicely.
Left to a friendly wave from the waiter who shouted "toon army" at my son..a nice touch and he was laughing about it on the way home..think the only thing I could really fault is found it a tad on the expensive side..

“One of the best”
Reviewed February 6, 2014

I've been to Solomon's Lounge on numerous occasions and always leave very impressed. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They strike the perfect balance of being attentive to your needs but not being too intrusive. The restaurant has been refurbished recently after a fire outside led to extensive smoke damage. They've made it even better than before and it has great ambience.
The main reason for going to a restaurant is of course the food and here in my opinion Solomon's Lounge is as good as it gets. The menu has a great choice of dishes. This time I tried the Lahori Balti. It was superb.... spicy and fully of flavour. I really can't recommend Solomon's highly enough. If you've been tempted to try it out, I suggest you do, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
