“Decayed elegance............. however best location in town”

Going to N'castle and don't know where to stay... this is the place... Location couldn't be better.

Looks fab when you enter, Rolls to the left and Ferrari to the right of main entrance, so you may thing wow.... who are the rich and famous here?????
Well, 5 m inside the entrance you surely understand their gone and they may lef their cars here beecause of free parking offered or somethign similar.... Don't despair, the hotel is ok if you look away from the stark decoration and the elevator that is out of order for days..... Service is excellent, old fashion style.... However finding an old fashion style TV in my room is more like 1/2 between I am checking into a museum and have they really run out of money... Offeringfs in the hotel is first class (at least on paper, didn't try much... however looks like a standard is here. Logo is Art deco style, can't trecognise to much art deco, however give it a go, maybe a bit pricey for this part of England, all the waterholes you wnat is on your doorstep..

Just had a fab night at The Vermont. Went on a Livingsocial deal which was fantastic value. The staff in all departments were friendly and efficient. It was a cold weekend and the bedrooms and restaurant were well heated. We ate in the restaurant on Saturday night and the food and service were excellent and very good value. The service in the Livello cocktail bar however wasn't!! The bar has just been refurbished to a very high standard but we had to wait for 30 minutes to get served. Lots of people had the buy one get one free cocktail vouchers so it was taking the bar staff a while to get them made but the cocktails were worth it when we eventually got them.
We will return in the near future.

Just back from a one night stay with my husband and can't fault this hotel.

As others have said, all the staff without exception were friendly and helpful and our room was spotless and spacious.

I didn't fancy the buffet style cooked breakfast so I asked for poached eggs on toast and it was no problem at all and they were cooked to order in no time.

The hotel has a small new fitness room (2 x treadmills, 2 x cross trainers, and 2 x bikes plus a small weights section. There is also a small sauna and steam room and lovely changing facilities, complete with toiletries and towels. It's unmanned but accessible with your room key 24 hours a day. We used it twice and were the only ones in both times.
Only thing missing was drinking water so be sure to take a bottle with you!

I would definitely return again to the Vermont Hotel and recommend it to anyone!

Myself and 3 friends attended the vermont on a living social deal and we was not dissapointed.

Great location, walking distance to newcastle centre. In castle grounds.
Lovely clean hotel, nice staff and rooms nice and spacious.
Breakfast was one of nicest ive had in a long time. Buffet & continental.

Would definatly recommend to others and would return there if I come to Newcastle again.

Got a good deal for one night room only, we were not expecting much for £50 but were pleasantly suprised. The staff were very good, the room was spacious and clean. The only downside was the decor is a bit out of date, but to be fair we have stopped in more modern hotels that were not as good as the Vermont. Location is excellent within easy walking distance of all the city centre attractions and dispite having an on site late night bar/nightclub the room was very quite. Will definatly return.

Room Tip: Ask for quite room to avoide city noise

We have just got back from this hotel. I bought it last year as a present for Christmas but they didn't use it so me and hubby decided too.
Very lush, extremely friendly staff, spacious rooms, fabulous location.
Prices for Restaurant, bottles of wine £13, sharing platters in the lounge £9.
Plumped for a drambuie by the log fire late last night
Will definately be staying here again.

Room Tip: don't think there is a bad room here
