“Excellent hotel for the price”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Went for a conference with work. Lovely warm hotel, friendly staff. Didn't have breakfast (too expensive!) but lunch and coffee were very good. The experience was slightly marred by the shouting of other hotel guests until 6am and the fire alarm on Sunday morning but there is little the hotel could do about that!

Stayed on business whilst attending a course. Had room service when I arrived (hate dining alone!), very prompt service and dinner was good :-) I also opted for the breakfast in bed option and again, was delivered promptly and piping hot. I booked a superior room which had a very comfortable bed and a flat screen tv. There is a charge for wifi which is a shame, as the vast majority of hotels now provide this free of charge. The bathroom appeared to have been recently refurbished to a good standard. However, the toilet is separate to the bathroom and has been given a lick of paint instead...as another reviewer has mentioned, there is no sink in there! Overall it was a pleasant stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the accommodation was very good :-)

Stayed overnight for a family gathering in the area. Great value for money. Quiet. Nightmare to find as from the main road you end up outside Metro Inns which looks like a hotel for vagrants. Why no proper signs?

Many thanks for placing your review on the site, and I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. In response to your question, the access to the hotel is currently being changed from the road beside the Metro Inn, to the more independant site at the base of the hill. The access has indicator ont he main external has been removed and we are currently waiting for the local authority to place the new signage (very imminent). Many thanks again.

I got married on the 10/11/12 and booked it about 18 months before and was over the moon to find out that everything was organised by the hotel even the ceremony all had to do was pay them the money happy days no stress ... Or so I thought a out 8 weeks before I called in to see the wedding coordinater and asked a few details like do I need to singing anything for the registra and was told no u have booked ur registra haven't you?? I was horrified they hadn't told me I had to do that i was told they would arrange it luckily I managed to get one but not a the time the hotel had arranged and all the invites had been posted the photographer had been booked and so had the hairdresser wich all had to be changed and that was just the start I was told I could bring in outside catering for the evening buffet wich was written in my file and deposit to them I had already paid to be told 3 weeks before I couldn't then half of the hotel chairs had arms on and the chairs covers didn't fit so I would have half with and half without I was furious when I received a very hostile phone call by the hotel manager to say that I should have read the small print! But when u ask ur wedding coordinater a question u just presume she knows what she's talking about after having a meeting with the manager I was told that she would personally make sure my wedding went with out a hitch on the day. But when the day arrived she was no were to been nor was my so called wedding coordinator but everything seemed to be going ok the meal was nice but was not what was on the menu the roast potatoes were boiled and the seasonal veg was just carrots wich we were disappointed about then the dj wich the hotel had booked never showed up I was told he was stuck in traffic and my guests were arriving at 7 eventually the dj arrived at nearly 8 and he introduced himself and said he hadn't been booked and was asked last minute to do a wedding it was nearly half 8 before the dico was ready i still haven't received an explanation or even an apology but the hotel and would never recommend it to anyone your wedding only happens once and u don't need any extra stress they ruined my whole wedding experience and I would hate it for anyone else to be treated they we were very very disappointing hotel!

I am most suprosed to see your comments relating to your wedding reception. In response, I can say that your comments are completely contrary to the pleasure you expresseed on the day to the team, and indeed afterwards to me personally. Thank you for placing your views.
