Popped in to buy some coffee but the soup of the day sounded lovely, butternut squash and crispy bacon. So ended up eating there

Went for a half sandwich and soup with a chai tea latte, both were lovely and best of all it's good value!

Just awful. Menu much better than the food. 'Honey roast ham with egg mayonnaise on granary bloomer' NOT!
Soggy sliced bread, tasteless thin and processed cheap supermarket ham. Completely tasteless egg. Mayonnaise, was it? Very poor value, will never return.

Loved this place. Not knowing Newcastle I walked in thinking it was a deli/shop and was really pleased to find that they served food. The menu is limited in that there isn't a huge range of types of food on it (soups, salads, sandwiches or paninis), but within the types available there was a huge choice ie LOADS of different sandwich fillings. I had an individual tasting platter with falafel, houmous, pitta, haloumi, peppers and salad and it was all really fresh and really delicious. And then there was the cake..... They had a huge selection of traybake type cakes which all looked amazing and had some unusual options in there such as the popcorn and salted caramel tiffin that I had, and a parsnip cake. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the prices very reasonable. I just wish I lived a bit nearer so I could go more often!!

Been here quite a few times and each time it's been lovely! Always have a sandwich and a cake. Really friendly staff who recognized my face on my 3rd visit. Always super helpful, quick and serve up some of the best coffee shop food I've ever had! Great place and would definitely recommend!

I've been to olive and bean about a dozen times and have never been disappointed so thought it was about time that I write a review! As a veggie I often find most sandwich shops have a boring array of blah food, but here I've had the halloumi ciabatta, mezze platter, applewood and and red onion and afternoon tea. The traybskes are as good as they look- the peanut butter caramel slab is to die for as is the chai! Can get busy but always worth the wait:)
