“Awesome sandwiches”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

We went here for lunch twice over the course of a long weekend. It really is one of the best delis/sandwich shops I have ever been to! There is an enormous amount of choice, good size portions and really top quality ingredients. Also an excellent craft beer selection. The children's sandwiches are also excellent, and great value for £2.50. It also sells the most unbelievable selection of cakes - massive slabs of inventive chocolate treats!

“Very Good”

What a great place. Great value and great food. A rarity in Newcastle which is slowly turning into a corporate fast food wasteland.

“Great lunch!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

Ate here this afternoon and was amazed at the variety and choice of paninis, baguettes and salads. We sampled a chorizo salad and a pastrami baguette which were both delicious. Found this establishment by chance and so glad we stumbled across this little trendy cafe in the heart of the city. Will be visiting again very soon when next in Newcastle.

“Fab lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

Went to olive and bean on a weekday around 11.30 so it was fairly empty, but around 12 it started getting busy. The staff were very smiley and seemed to make the effort to get to know their regulars. The decor is simple but nice, with a rustic farm shop feel which I loved. The menu is huge, making it very hard to choose. I had been craving a good toasted sandwich and really dislike it when cafes only have 3 or 4 options to choose from but that certainly wasn't a problem here. The sandwiches are fairly pricey, around £4.50-£6 for a panini, but those thoughts immediately disappeared when the food arrived around 10 minutes later. The portion was very generous and they certainly don't skimp on fillings. I had a chicken and bacon panini which had really nice bacon, no chewy, day old stuff, and lots of strong cheddar, served alongside a small salad and crisps. They also had many amazing looking sweet options on offer but I didn't have any, sadly. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

“Morning Breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

Came here for morning breakfast and there is a good selection for breakfast. I had poached eggs on a muffin which was cooked to order and very tasty. It is slightly on the pricy side, but as it was not busy, I could relax and read a newspaper. There are newspapers on the tables.
