Have been to quite a few racecourses and Newcastle is up with the best of them. Good facilities plenty of betting sites and food options easy to get to. The negatives long wait at the bars to get a drink not enough ladies toilets but to be honest this is a problem with most racecourses. All in all great day out and a well run course.

Hello,

I am from Newcastle and visit Newcastle racecourse twice a year for plate day and ladies day.
The events are a good day solely because of the 'people atmosphere', but then thats true of everywhere.

For £50 the premier access offers you only a ticket...very little seating available for the massive crowds who attend.

For £30 you get access to Grandstand area, which is grey concrete environ, a lawned area where folk are squeezed in like cattle and undesirable toilet facilities with huge queues.

In July on ladies day, I asked for water at four of the the tented alcohol selling areas, none had any water available for people who were not drinking.
No one advised me where I could get a glass of water? One assistant advised me that it was'nt his job as he was selling only jeigermeister!........unbelievable!

I have eaten in the Gold marquee and a corporate marquee.....the food was abysmal at approximately £180.00 to £250.00. although free wine was copious..guess thats ok for some..

The staff serving in marquees were very pleasant and helpful and worked well, the table settings for cream tea was shocking, as was the tea. Greggs could do better...

The standard of food, for the average fee of £200, is quite simply disgraceful, its standard equates to a £20.00 meal.....I shall not be eating again as it is not worth the money.

Most of the staff are charming, helpful and pleasant, however there are the occasional doormen or stewards who can be very rude.......customer relation education needed.

The course is good the horses are magnificent, the crowds create the atmosphere, parking is fine......but there is massive room for improvement.

The admin girl Emma, who I deal with each year is excellent, courteous, proficient and prompt.

Eileen,.

Great day at Newcastle racecourse on Ladies day with the girls great atmosphere the sun was shining, the only thing disappointing was that their was not enough ladies toilets and you had to queue for a least half an hour or more.
