I booked the hotel on short notice thanks to a last minute business trip to Newcastle. Having read previous reviews it seemed an obvious choice for where I needed to be and I wasn't disappointed.

I was given the keys to what turned out to be a lovely large bedroom complete with 4 poster bed, large screen TV (with built in DVD player) and an amazing looking bathroom with a large shower.

The hotel grounds looked really nice (too cold and wet to explore though) and the overall look and feel to the hotel was nice, homely and most importantly quiet!!!

People have commented on the only option of continental breakfast but I didn't find this too much of an issue as there was plenty of choice including cereals, fruit juices, yoghurts etc as well as toast and croissants done to order.

In fact, the only thing I feel is a minor gripe (perhaps on my part) is the provision of a bath towel rather than a bath sheet although this is perhaps just my personal preference.

When I am in Newcastle again and need a hotel close to the A1 I will have no hesitation is booking here again.

We had a two night stay while visiting our son who is at Newcastle Uni. About 4miles from the centre, parking is easy and we took the bus from outside the property into town for £3.60 return.

The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. Breakfast is fairly basic but that served us well after two good evening meals.

Very good value. Thank you to the owners.

My toddler and I stayed the night before our wedding and then the three of us stayed the first night of our honeymoon.
We stayed in room 5, more of a suite, so we had room for hairdresser and make up artist and the bridesmaids.
Lovely and clean throughout, warm and cosy, welcoming and beautiful. Bathroom was great and dressing room with gold mirror and throne was perfect to make us all feel special.
Plenty of hot water, even for the enormous bath!
Great, varied and filling continental breakfast and lovely hosts.
A wonderful start to our married life. Would certainly stay again.
Thank you.

Our room was amazing. Beautifully set up and very large. We had three rooms total, and all of them were very different. We wished we had more time to spend here to enjoy it. It was tricky finding because the local bridge was out. It added about a half hour on our trip time trying to get there for arrival and after we went out. Staff was nice. A shouldn't miss!!!!
