“Was ok but not memorable”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2014

So the menu was extensive and the dishes we selected were fine. Service was a little mechanical and the restaurant interior looks a bit tired.

Just felt like one of those evenings where you have your food, pay your bill and arrive home wondering whether it was all worth it. Probably not an experience I would repeat.

Would probably say that this restaurant attracts customers a little too easily due to a very good location e.g. they don't have to try as hard as some.

“Fine, but nothing exciting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2014

I visited this restaurant for the first time on Christmas Eve. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Not much of an ambience. It seems to be more popular for takeaways as we saw quite a few going out.

There's a much better experience to be had elsewhere so whilst I would eat here again if someone else booked it, it wouldn't be my first choice.

“Tasty curry”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

This was our second visit to this restaurant when in Newcastle. The food was as good as the first time. Very tasty curry finished off with a lovely coffee. It is a basic looking place but the food is worth overlooking that.

“Basic”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

Nothing about this restaurant jumps out at you to sing its praises.
It is a bit worn with new seating required and a new carpet on the stairs is needed also ( funny the one that is down is the old Vujon carpet that they must have discarded a couple of years ago when they were refurbished ) A few quid spent on this restaurant will keep it up with the other fantastic ones newly opening on this beautiful Grey Street.
Starters were ok , nothing fantastic but acceptable, lacking in full flavours. Mains were much the same . My chilli based dish was much like a tin from a supermarket. The balti dish we ordered was in fairness tasty and the lamb was excellent, the best part of the meal.
Service was a bit iffy. The lads waiting on did not seem very pleased to be there, barely raisng a smile all night.
Value was quite good, £90 for 4 people with 6 alcoholic drinks and 4 coffees included. They just need to smile and clean up a little here and there.

“really good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

Visited early teatime on a short city break. Attentive staff. Good service but above all really tasty food. The poppadoms and pickles were excellent and introduced us to some new flavours. All good. Mains were lovely. In all a really good place to eat and would go again
