My husband and I were booked to stay here as we were having a night out in Newcastle City Centre for my birthday. Thank god we checked it out during the day shortly after our arrival in Newcastle. It cost us £8.50 in a taxi to get to the hotel, so not exactly a City Centre location. We took one look at it and didn't go further than the reception desk. The Hotel advertises for bed, breakfast and evening meal but only serves Indian food, fine if you like Indian food. It advertises a lounge, but is not licenced. There are no shops or pubs nearby and even if there were, you would not feel safe to walk around in this area. We headed back into the City Centre and found a decent hotel, much cheaper. Unfortunately it cost us another £8.50 to get back into town and the hotel also charged us 10% for cancelling the booking! What a cheek!

Spent one night at this hotel this month. Its nice building which has been adapted. I can accept some of the comments made by other guests at this hotel, but as I paid £59.99 for my night's accommodation, including breakfast, I felt I had a good deal.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was basic continental, but adequate. Staff were friendly efficient and helpful. In addition, the use of keycards restricting access not only to the rooms but the lift and guest areas ensured a feeling of safety.

9 of us stayed here for the weekend, and all I can describe it as is a filthy hole. Guy on reception could not speak a word of English and looked like he probably lived in a cave at the bottom of the garden. "stig of the dump" as we called him was utterly useless u would not of trusted him to get you 10 fags without cocking it up, took him 30 minutes to count the money!
As for the rooms, a night in the forest would have been cleaner, and please dont even think about entertaining a women here, unless she's homeless and needs a bed for the night, then you might have a chance. Location ok, £7.00 in taxi but the place was manky. Breakfast is good, especially if you enjoy tesco's cornflakes with warm sour milk. The surrounding area Is a cross between the slums of brazil and war torn Serbia back in the 80's. Stay at your peril!!!!!!!!!

Let's start with the only positive - the staff are very friendly.
Other than that, it is an horrendous hotel - it is actually like a hostel.
Guests wear baffled faces at the sheer embarrassing state of the whole set-up.
Rooms don't have their own bathroom and shower - these are down the corridor and shared with other guests and are horrible.
The breakfast consists of toast, drinks and cornflakes only. We passed on dinner.
If I owned this hotel I'd be embarrassed to take money off people. It may be cheap - but it takes the word basic to new levels.

A lot of reviews stating how its a dreadful hotel, me and a friend stayed over for just a single night as was only visiting newcastle for a couple of days, yet we both said that we would stay here again. For the price of which you are paying, it is a very satisfactory place to stay. Very comfortable beds and a reasonable shower, to be honest i was expecting a lot worse for the price of which we were paying.
