“Very Pleasant Family Party Venue”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We booked the Georgian House Hotel well in advance of our family party (in November for the following July) and from the very beginning the staff were helpful as well as professional. The choices offered were attractive, and we liked the Augusta Room which has French windows to the lawn and a central glass cupola in the ceiling which makes it light.

Our party included grandparents, parents and children aged 1-8, all of whom praised the room, the garden, the finger buffet and the wine/juices.

On the day the service was pleasant, unobtrusive and efficient, some small extra requests (like bread and butter for children and extra tea) were supplied gladly.

We would recommend this as a venue for a family party.

Room Tip: Cannot comment on bedrooms because nobody stayed overnight.

Booked for a wedding weekend. Read the reports and was pleasantly surprised. It is a bit tired and is getting a gradual makeover. Our room was clean and at the back. Our daughter's newly redone and very good. Another guest had a poor room which was very tired. But ours was perfect for a comfy bed for the night. The staff were so helpful and breakfast, standard fare and filling. The pool and spa was enjoyed by the younger members. My brother had an evening meal which was "OK", which meant he was not left hungry.

Room Tip: at the back, no road noise

Only stayed the one night but good value and friendly. Nice breakfast and comfortable clean room which, whilst at the front of the hotel, was not noisy. Good parking and swimming pool, whilst small, suited our needs. Would use again if in the area.

What a find! Came here for a 2 night spa break - bonus that the hotel is in the heart of the small village of Haslemere and so could combine with some retail therapy! The staff are this hotel's best asset - really friendly and laid back whilst being efficient. We were allocated one of the Spa rooms at the back of the hotel which was quiet (and cool during the very hot weather) - tea/coffee making facilities plus iron and ironing board and plenty of fluffy white towels and flat screen tv. The pool and jacussi were well kept and we were provided with towels on every visit. Great choice at breakfast - fruit/cereal plus cooked. Evening meal was great on the first night but bit disappointing on the second night (there was a Rotary Club event on so not sure if there was more than one chef).. nevertheless excellent value for money. Gardens well kept, secluded and quiet.

We will certainly be recommending this hotel and hope to escape the day to day routine and visit again later in the year.

Room Tip: Ask for a spa room at the back of the hotel if you like peace and quiet.

I was pleased with our stay in this hotel in the middle of Haslemere village. We booked knowing it was a 3* and we were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, clean, albeit a little dated with peach bathroom wall tiles and basic styling, but overall in very good condition. No fridge but being 3* wasn't expecting one. Nice size, openable windows. A little surface mould in the shower area could do with being attended to. Very cheerful receptionist, helpful and polite. Great location in the town, easy walk to variety of restaruants (we recommend the Poacher's Pocket and the White Horse). We didn't use the spa or dining facilities. The garden looked lovely with a gazebo and tables and chairs. Personally, this was far better value than a recent stay in a supposed 5* London hotel.

I stayed just one night, and after only arriving mid-evening, i didn’t eat in the hotel but did manage to use the pool and have a few drinks at the bar. The hotel is a little bit tired looking and would benefit from some paint and a few new carpets. my room was at the back of the hotel near the spa, the room was very comfortable, clean but had no view whatsoever. The staff all seemed very friendly but the waiting on staff at breakfast didn’t seem very interested.

We didn't stay here, but attended a wedding. For that purpose, it is nicely laid out, staff seemed mostly very nice, enthusiaistic and helpful. The event went off well despite last-minute changes due to weather, so congrats to the staff for making that happen. The wedding food was good quality, and nicely cooked also. Service could have been improved if more staff had been available as speed of delivery to whole room wasn't great. I can't comment on the rooms or the restaurant food, but heard no complaints from the other guests. However, can't give it a very good, as it could do with some money spent to brighten it up a bit, and maybe turn it into a go-to destination from what currently seems like a functional destination. You might not choose to be here unless being in the centre of Haslemere was important.
