This is an attractive piece of architecture half way up the high street on the right, its easily walked passed and it does not help that at present here is a lot of work going on around it so only the paths tp the right or left are open, the middle is closed with builders stuff!. Go through and look back to the high street, (imagine the builders stuff removed) and its quite pretty

We walked past on our way up High street and decided to walk through on our way back. There were only a few stall open and the shops beyond limited. The Castle ruins and grounds opposite the Hare Pub are well worth a visit.
The arch itself is an imposing piece of architecture and, as with a large number of buildings in Guildford, had explanatory plagues attached.

Good place to just stop and observe Guildford's cobbled High Street, nice area with public toilets nearby and flower sellers here too.

This is an arch on Guildford High Street, classical in design on the High Street side but clearly modern and nondescript on the Tunsgate side. The only reason for walking through it is to access the shops and restaurants on Tunsgate.

I am always happy to pass this spot, it makes me happy. The bread seller can count on my money as well. Great history and age does edify. Never miss a chance to visit and shop in Guildford
