“Lovely Wedding Weekend”
Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

I have just stayed here as I was Bridesmaid for my best friend who got married here. The whole wedding was wonderful. Rooms were of a good size - mine especially as we were both using it to get ready. Staff & service could not have been more friendly or helpful. The spa was much better than I expected and the food was very good. The setting is beautiful. As it's an old building, there were no lifts which would have been helpful. But on the whole I enjoyed my stay & would recommend to anyone visiting.

It was ok, the building from the outside looks lovely. But the place needs a bit of tlc, spa good and relaxing. The rooms were clean but there are somethings that just need replacing not just constantly cleaned. I feel sorry for the housekeepers! The staff were friendly but I think the receptionist manager needs to give the poor receptionists a break!
I would return here may just as a casual stop if I had to.

We stayed here yesterday for an overnight spa break and could have not been more disappointed. On arrival we found our room to be in a state of disrepair with mould on the bathroom ceiling taps broken rust and wAter marks evident. The interior can only be described as grubby. We made our way to the spa which was ok in need of a good clean but facilities were nice. You have to ask if you want the complimentary fruit juice and the water is in the gym so again you have to make your way back to reception and ask. We tried to book treatments in advance of our stay however were told they were fully booked both days? We did wonder whether they actually do treatments during quieter times as the hotel was very quiet and according to staff was at only 30% occupied.

After the spa we made our wY to the bar area where we were promptly served by friendly member of staff however three staff members then proceeded to argue for the next forty minutes about who had done the most work who could go for a fag break and why they could not go home early. As we were not able to enjoy our drink in peace and quiet we decided to take a walk in the grounds there is some very beautiful scenery ruined by pikes of rubbish dumped around the place .

At dinner time we were informed that the full menu was not available as was the room service menu. On Sundays they only offer a set Sunday roast menu when we enquirer whether the chef was able to make a salad we were told he could not he did however make my daughter some chips. The food was not a roast at all but huge lumps of meat grilled it would seem it was so bad we never ate it and sent it away.

We did have a comfortable nights sleep and found the spa much cleaner the next morning when the general manager was on duty? The breakfast was not bad at all the fresh juices had been watered down and bacon well over cooked but there was plenty of variety.

This hotel needs a good old fix up before I would stay again I would say defiantly not a three star at all.

Had a fantastic time at this hotel. All the staff were extremely helpful the food was great and really enjoyed the spa area. Can't wait for an excuse to return. Special thank you for accommodating our early dinner even though you were busy with weddings.

I stayed at the manor house hotel to attend a wedding there. The initial impression from the outside is that it is need of an update and that is also true once inside. Our room was small and dated in style but reasonably clean. The curtains didn't quite shut which was annoying in the morning. The wedding itself was lovely!

Lovely location/ attractive building thats where it ends really.

This hotel is very dated/ tired and in desperate need of a makeover. From antiquated plumbing, wi-fi free but only close to the ground floor reception/ tired and very uninspiring menu in the restaurant.

Got to the the room after a long walk up and down stairs to find the room cold-heating not switched on until 1st October. However it was comfortable and well appointed with furniture-dating back to the 50's.

Would I stay again probably no as value for money it wasnt but you pay for proximity to Guildford etc.
