Walked around the grounds and it was very pretty. We had paid for 4 hours parking around the corner and even with a slow walk down the high street after we were there less than an hour so keep this in mind if you are after a day out.

Small historic garden? I love to walk around, sit and read the books here so much.

The Brits are famous for their love of colorful floral gardens and fresh country air, and these small towns are as picturesque as they are relaxing.

Everyone can enjoy a small picnic in peace, pretty nature and tranquility garden located in the town centre with free-of-charge.

We took a quick detour to visit the castle grounds and were delighted to see that it is in full bloom for summer.

The grounds around the castle are easily accessed from the town high street. There are paved walkways around the castle which weave through the gardens, the immaculate bowling green, the castle walls and band stand. The garden path is relatively wheelchair friendly, although it is steep in some places, and steps up to the castle itself.

There is the castle museum available to visit for £3.20, but we did not go in on this occasion.

Would recommend a visit to escape the busy town, and take a snack to sit down and enjoy the view and surroundings.
