It began with the rustic bread to start which turned out to be toasted chunks of yesterday's bread with a sauce and roast garlic bulbs. It continued with my wife's fish choice not being available which was substituted by lamb dish where the lamb was rather tough and dominated by dauphinoise potato. Further problems arose when the vegetable side dish failed to arrive and my grilled sole turned out to be not fillets but a baby fish which I suspect should have been thrown back into the sea to grow up.The deserts were average. What was good? The Rioja, the waitress and the relative speed of delivery. I left with a headache caused by a noisy party of 14,literally a few feet away, and the permanent stream of traffic to the toilets immediately behind my seat. At £66 for 2 on a Saturday evening it's not something I wish to repeat.
