Description: A beautiful 16th Century Inn which is full of charm and age. Refurbished in late 2016 the Punch bowl now offers open fires, food all day every day, relaxed drinking and a stunning function room and restaurant. With plenty of parking and opposite a cricket green a perfect place to wallow away those sunny days. The winter it gets even better with roaring fires and a warm decor. We are pleased that the Punch Bowl that is under our wing as it is a truly great example of a stunning British pub. Open from 12 noon every day.

We went here for lunch with the family and it catered for all of our food allergies/intolerances. Food is absolutley delicious, great sized portions which means you get well and truly stuffed! The staff are friendly and attentive but know how to give you enough space. Couldn't recommend it any more!

“Oh dear!”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

I visited this Inn with a friend recently, after having passed through the area. I had visited previously, many years ago, and remember it as being a lovely country pub serving decent food and drinks. My memory is either failing me, or this place has taken a sharp decline!
The food was mediocre, and the drinks over priced. My main complaint though would have to be the atmosphere created by a woman who appeared to be the landlady. She was inattentive, rude and unfriendly. The place was extremely quiet, and from our table we could hear her gossiping with a couple of highly inebriated customers about her staff. This was not a pleasant experience! What a shame that this building and the few customers it had has been neglected by these people.
