One of the highest points in Surrey and the starting place for the Olympic cycling long distance events. Very busy at the weekends for families wanting to walk up Box Hill.

Winding road up there busy with cyclis keen to ride two abreast meant we arrived not preprogrammed to like it. However, once parked and wandering about, we loved it. There are well designed paths of different lengths and challenge. We did the supposedly flat Hill top Stroll, but found this had some steeper bits, no use if you were less mobile. Nice to see where Jane Austin set her picnic in Emma. Looked in vain for Miss Bates.....instead, many pleasant families eating ice cream, and climbing around.

I travelled the roads around Box hill shortly after the Olympic road race there last year and it was not a disappointment. It was great to get a first hand view of the climbs the cylists had to contend with. This a particulalry pretty part of Surrey and Box Hill village has some delightful and interesting properties. The views across the valley from the various vantage points are trully superb, especially on a clear sunny day. Well worth a visit and a walk?

This is specially for all the visitors who are travelling to London. It is about 30/40 minutes drive from Hounslow & is a perfect day outing on a picturesque place. One will find plenty of nature lovers & cyclists will be around this. A photographer will be really delighted to be in this place. I guess there is a golf court as well.

One can go for cycling, going down to the river walk or spend the whole day just lazing in the pub serving awesome food. The staff in the pub is also very courteous. The variety of food is also pretty decent.

One can really plan for a short party in the pub. Average price for a meal platter will be 10-15 GBP & a small glass of beer will cost 3-4 GBP.

National Trust owned and maintained well. Fantastic views over Surrey. The 'zig-zag' road up is fun (take care, lots of bikes ...........it was part of the 2012 Olympic cycle route). Take a pic-nic on a clear day.
