Chart House Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #4 of 12 Dorking B&B and Inns
Reviewed March 29, 2013

this is my second weekend in Chart House b&b, and again it was not under the best of personal circumstances for myself. Once again, Jill was so accommodating to my needs, the grounds are immaculate (unfortunately I wasn't able to just sit in the field and read, mainly due to the snow!), so quiet, and a perfect place from which to explore Dorking and the Surrey Downs. I would always recommend it as the most comfortable b&b ever.

An amazing experience. Understated but exuding class and comfort down to the smallest detail. Incredible value.
Perfectly situated for easy access into Dorking and run by an incredibly accomodating owner.

This B&B was recommended to me by another local B&B where I have stayed previously and was thoroughly pleased with the recommendation!

We booked the room at short notice recently and turned up late but were made to feel very welcome to stay and that it was no trouble.

The house itself is magnificent with a quite spectacular garden (well, from what we could see through the picturesque morning mist!) and plenty of other quite unique and homely features.

As for the service, we could not fault it, incredibly friendly and accommodating. My partner left an item of clothing in the room and this was returned within 2 days free of charge! If you like to stay at a B&B that prides itself on excellent service we thoroughly recommend you consider staying here.

In some ways 5 stars doesn't say enough...

I always stay this B&B when I visit Dorking. This Chart House is very silent and easy to access for the centre of the town. Especially this B&B is clean and has newly remodeled bathroom.
Also windows was remodeled so it is very comfortable during summer and winter season.
The cost is cheaper, so I think this B&B is very valuable.

Booked this at last minute for a walking trip to Surrey and weren't disappointed at all. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and Jill, the owner cannot do enough for you. The property gardens are beautiful. There's a tennis court for the more active and even 3 little alpacas to pet for the kids. We had to share a bathroom as most rooms are not en suite but the bathroom was immaculate. Only a 5 minutes walk from the centre of the town and 10-15 from the train station. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to visit this region.

We found the B&B to be perfectly located for a one night stay before flying out of Gatwick the following afternoon. Dorking is a pleasant town and the B&B situated an easy strolling distance from town. Fortunately, we visited the superb National Trust property 'Polesdon Lacy' before leaving the UK. Our room with shared bathroom overlooking the rear garden was extremely quiet, very clean and the bed large and comfy. The choice of cereals, toast and pastries for breakfast was satisfactory after dinner at a great Sri Lankan restaurant the previous night.

We travelled from Ireland to attend a family funeral and were fortunate to book an overnight stay in Chart House Bed and Breakfast. The house itself is beautiful, the rooms are spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable. My room overlooked the garden, which is simply delightful. We have nothing but the highest praise for Jill ( the lady of the house) who made us very welcome and was more than helpful by printing boarding passes for our return flight and ordering a taxi to take us to the airport. She runs her Bed and Breakfast in a professional manner but also manages to make her guests feel right at home.
