“Good food & friendly service!”
Reviewed June 11, 2012

We have eaten at the Coach and Horses a few times now. Normally with a group of friends and family. Whether there were two or ten of us the service was always friendly and efficient. The range of menu covered all requirements even catering for a young child's taste. It's best to book a table as word has got around that this is a good place to eat! Using their web site to book is simple and a conformation e-mail is normally sent by return. Parking is easy and access for a wheelchair is no problem.
Give them a try, you'll not be disappointed.

“Good food at reasonable prices”
Reviewed June 6, 2012

This pub was just a short walk from our base at Melton Hall and it turned out to be more than just convenient! Although part of a small chain and very definitely in the modern gastro-pub style favoured by breweries the food was good, mostly local and well priced. The staff are young and friendly and service was quick and with a smile. One big plus was a smoked fish platter from a local smokery - really excellent quality and not at all what you would expect in most chain pubs. The locally-landed cod was delicious and succulent - as well as being huge! The chips that went with it were perhaps the only disappointment - they could only have come out of a freezer bag! A good range of beers and very well-priced wines plus a decent espresso made this a very pleasant place to eaton a quiet weekend - as well as being a VERY short walk back to our base!

“Very enjoyable Family Pub”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Our party of 15 was very well looked after on a very hot Sunday afternoon. Menu choice was good, special board excellent. I had sea bass with buffalo mozzarella, bacon, sun-dried tomatoes and salad and it was superb. Prices were to suit all budgets and all ages in our party were happy. The staff were attentive and friendly.
We will definately return.

“Lovely pub and fantastic food”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

We had a family gathering in this pub so you can imagine there was a wide range of tastes to cater for. This was not a problem for the chef who provided us all with some very tasty well cooked food that was enjoyed by everyone. The bar and waiting staff were more than helpful in making the evening run smoothly, so if your looking for somewhere relaxed and puts the customer first then give this place a try.

“A Pub worthy of this area”
Reviewed May 26, 2012

Situated on northern outskirts of the town at Melton, it is conveniently situated with good carparking and ample outside seating with some shade, provided you do not mind the passing traffic.
Recently extensively renovated it was our first lunchtime visit and we found a most warm welcome with prompt service and help in choosing a table in one of four varied dining areas (it's worth looking around before selecting your seating . Food can be ordered at bar or inside table. Good menu range with locally sourced fish, meat and vegetables and varied sized portions. Good selection of deserts and excellent coffee!
Overall a good impression. Building very nicely renovated and retains it's 'olde worlde' feel but clearly now with well fitted facilities. The staff are to be complimented on showing an interest and their efficient service.
Suitable for all ages and families as well as business calls. Good walking nearby in park or along River Deben.
