“A pleasant evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

Popped in for a quick drink and a bite to eat. Very pleasant venue, good menu.Staff very pleasant and helpful. Lovely open fire which was definately needed due to the rather cold weather we have been having.

“Good food, expensive wine!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

Myself and friend visited here this week. We both had the pig cheek and scallop starter, she had lamb for main and I had squid, she had a chocolate torte for desert. All the food was presented very well and tasted great and considering this is one of the more expensive places to dine in the area, the portion sizes were reasonable (I didn't have room for desert!). We were also brought mice fluffy bread and a large bottle if tap water free of charge and without asking. The staff were polite and service prompt. The only criticism I have is that between us we had three glasses of wine, which in total cost us £34! I felt that £11 for a glass of wine was slightly steep and a good bar person would have advised us to buy the bottle which would have been significantly cheaper. I would however quite happily return to dine again, will just maybe stick to soft drinks!

“Do not take your wheelchair”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

In fairness the staff are great and they do have ramps. Problem is that there is a lot of work to get you in and out and it makes you feel a tad daft. Once in then the restraunt can be a bit tight, again you feel a bit silly. Top marks though, this is one of the few places in Woodbridge that have made the effort and I would spend my money in here first. Please make it easier for a wheelchair user to attract attention form the street and thank you for trying to make a very old building more accessable.

“Fab food, well served”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

Lunched here on a special offer by email prebooked the day before: 2 courses (starter and main) for £13 (usually £18, I think). Starters of terrine with pickles and carrot and coriander soup were both full of flavour. The main of venison sausages & mash was well complemented by the sweetned red cabbage & gravy. Drinks were a bit pricey: £6+ for a pint of Broadside plus an organic lemonade. Unfortunately a freshly pressed apple juice was not stocked (what? in Suffolk, home of one of the most famous brands!)

Service was very good, all were helpful and friendly and had time for a word or too.

Dogs are permitted in the bar area, and food can be served here too, but do pre-book as there is only one table suitable.

We thought this was some of the best food we have found in the area, and will certainly return.

“Dinner with friends at another good venue with good food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

Irregular get together with good friends where we always try to find good food and this was no let down. Local sourced food and produce very successfully put onto an extensive and interesting menu. All three courses for all five of us resulted in empty plates, surely the best and most obvious complement of all. Service was friendly, patient and helpful. Overall a very enjoyable night and thoroughly recommended.
