Stayed 6 nights on part social and part business trip.

Hotel is very clean and staff are excellent and welcoming but that's pretty much where it ends. The interior decor is very much outdated (although it is all kept very tasteful and clean) and for the price nothing says wow I really must come back.

The bathroom was a disappointment as for the money I would expect more than just a mixer shower which leaves you at the mercy of water pressure and other users of hot water - so my shower was pretty poor all things considered.

Other than that it's OK and fine if you don't mind these sorts of things. Personally, I'll be booking into the Premier Inn over the road which for the same price will be much nicer for a long stay (and I know the showers are good!)

Ok so we paid £45 for our room on LateRooms.com although this hotel can vary in price up to £180 which ia a rip off!
From the outside this hotel looks beautiful and reception is nice. We were staying in the family room which consisted of 2 double beds and a single bed. Although this was a perfect size for our family the hotel decor and amenities are so out of date it really lets it down.
We aren't a family that are bothered by flashy decor but it was so outdated and things had holes and the toilet didnt flush. The hotel also gave us one towel (for 5 of us!).
Overall, outdated but good price with a discount.

Booked for a business meeting and overnight. Asked for a quiet room, even when checking in! (Thank you Christine!) Room 36, tired and scruffy, but very clean! Faced onto a corridor and the rumbling lift shaft! Function below, disco until midnight - so much for the quiet room. Breakfast was a strange affair, but saved by excellent sausages! Why was the room rate hoicked by £20 in two weeks when I first enquired?

Room Tip: Check carefully when you book, or on the other hand - don't book at all.....

If you are old enough to remember the 70's and fancy a trip back in time, this is the place for you.

After checking in the first thing to greet you is the lift, don't look for a lift door, more a painted white door which might just fool you. When it clangs to a halt you can walk in and marvel at the 'publicity' pictures showing the option of meeting and wedding venue rooms.........you will be getting a bit worried now!!

Walk along the corridors, which look like they were once outside but now inside, and enjoy the overpowering smell of sterilising fluids (think old peoples home and you are close).

Then behold, you open you door and the real treat begins, for me, the brown sink and avocado bath were the highlight.

Anyway, pictures speak a thousand words so i leave you some to judge for yourself.

Asking for a room that isn't 30-40 years wrong, was fruitless.

Come back again? Well there are plenty of horses in Newmarket, perhaps there are enough wild ones to drag me back......................but i doubt it.

One night stop over in some wintry conditions, snow and ice. The Hotel was comfortable and warm. The whole place is a little tired and needs some renovation. The dinner menu was limited but the fish and chips were good! The staff were friendly and helpful.
OK for a one night stay.

The hotel is in the middle of town so easy access to the pubs and restaurants nearby. There is free parking available and we did not have any issues findng a space.

The hotel is old and in need of updating but was clean and tidy; the staff welcoming and friendly. My only niggle was that I was allocated a room which had an internal window (i.e it overlooked the corridor rather than outside) which meant that you couldn't leave the window open for ventilation and with the heating on it was a bit stuffy!

Breakfast was ok with prompt service and a reasonable selection.
Free wifi was available and worked fine for me.

I'd stay here again but would probably look to try some of the other local hotels first as a comparison.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an outside window
