West Stow Hall

Eileen (and monty the dog) were wonderful hosts, and I couldn't recommend West Stow more. A beautiful location, and a fantastic building beautifully decorated. I just hope it's not fully booked next time we want to go.

The beauty of this B&B is that you are treated like one of the family.

Nothing was too much trouble for Eileen and her family and we had a wonderful two night stay.

When the weather improves, (ever the optimist), it is a beautiful location to take a walk or just sit in the grounds.

When we are next in the area, West Stow Hall will be our first choice.

Room Tip: We had one of the double bed rooms within the main house and it was everything we expected.

I have been remiss in posting this review in a more timely manner as this was, by a wide margin, the best B&B at which we have ever stayed.

At the risk of repeating what previous reviewers have said, this B&B is a real find. Located in the countryside in a beautiful location, this Tudor house is full of charm and history. Our room was magnificent, large and bright, with a modern and spacious ensuite. Breakfast was substantial and tasty, along wit the fresh fruit I had requested.

The hosts are extraordinary - gracious, helpful and kind. They invited us in for tea and a snack while they arranged a dinner reservation for us at a nearby pub on short notice on a busy evening. They attended to our every need - this included giving us a plug converter (North American to British) when we discovered that we had left ours at our last B&B which was miles and miles away, so that we would be able to charge our phones, cameras etc. on the rest of our journey.

I'm not certain we will pass their way again but we hope that this review will help others to find this gem of a place to stay.

My husband & I found this gorgeous B&B by chance but will definitely be revisiting when next in the area. We arrived late, following a meal at a nearby gastro pub, booked for us by our host, Eileen. On arriving at West Stow Hall we were invited into the kitchen for a coffee and then we retired to our most delightful room where everything was exquisitely laid out - we wanted for nothing. The en suite had all modern facilities but the rooms are authentic Tudor with magnificent beams and all original features. Breakfast in the morning was a traditional full English treat. A truly magical experience and hopefully one to be repeated.

What a brilliant place! A location rich in history. Interesting features from paintings to steam engines. Food, drink and bonbons to pamper the palate. Furnished to ease away the strain in an authentic country house environment. We loved it. Particularly the history tour given by Andy. Thank you Andy and Eileen.

The building is fantastic, full of character. It was a pleasure just to walk around the rooms in the house. The hosts, Eileen, Andy & Monty (very friendly dog) were there to please & help. Always ready for a chat. Our bedroom was big, bright & clean with a lovely comfortable bed. Ensuite bathroom is what you would expect from a first class hotel. Lovely cooked breakfast. I liked the fact that the guests all sat around a big breakfast table together so that we could all get to know other and share notes on where to visit.
We stayed here to attend a wedding at Hengrave Hall which is just a couple of miles away so the locataion was very convenient.

We stayed in the chalet for a long weekend and we had the most wonderful time. We were very sad to leave! Eileen and Andy were super hosts and the chalet was cosy and warm! It was really hard to leave. Eileen and Andy also have two most adorable dogs!
