We have returned, this very morning (19/08/13) from Suffolk, and one of the very best B&B's we've ever stayed in. So we've no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this place.

The - at first appearance - rather 'four square', Woolpit White brick, Georgian house hides an astonishing secret! Walk in to the lovely breakfast room and you suddenly realise this building has a much longer history, going right back into the 15th Century!

Indeed none other than King Henry VI spent time here in 1533!! But, unless you have a particular interest in architecture and history, what really impresses about Elmswell Hall is the warm, very friendly hospitality of Kate Over, whose home & business this is.

"Our" room - the double - is huge! The bed (comfy) is huge! The wardrobe is huge...! Large windows on two sides afford gorgeous views over the farm's land and the pretty countryside beyond, with the village church in the middle distance. If you dabble in Oils, beware... you'll want to paint this view!!

All the amenities you'd expect are present in the bedroom: tea/coffee making & biscuits, flat screen tv (which gives you all the Radio stations too), big fluffy towels, face flannels, towling dresing gown, large dressing table and mirror, shower, wash basin... but you have to pop across the landing to the loo!

As for breakfast... YUM! Kate sources all her ingredients very locally, and very fresh! She cooks it all perfectly too! Actually, I guess the mellons probably don't come from Suffolk!!

Guests also have free access to a spaceous and wonderfully comfortable lounge and, super on a summer's day, a lovely Sun Lounge.

The family have a super-friendly Labrador and two of the softest, sweetest tempered horses I've ever encountered, who - if they are in the adjacent field - WILL come to the wall to say hello!

If you're heading mid-Suffolk way, look no further for you B&B! Treat your self to "Over Hospitality"!! Oh, and say hello to the horses!!

We were guests at a wedding and stayed here with friends. Everything about this B&B is great; location, hospitality, quality of breakfast, price. The decor was a little old fashioned, but in a 80s interiors kind of a way, added to the charm.
