Every time I have eaten in Saints I've had a really warm welcome and some delicious fresh food. They can tailor dishes to your tastes and everything is packed with flavour. ONe I go back to for a quick lunch or a longer, lazier meal

On a short visit to Bury and on a v cold and snowby evening we were looking for somewhere good to eat at a reasonable price (special meal booked for next night). Asked a couple of (very friendly) locals where to eat and they both pointed us in the direction of the same old chains you find in every town. Resigned to a mass produced meal will follow their directions.

Then luck struck. We stumbled upon Saints and they had 1 free table (thank goodness for the snow and bitting wind!).

The food was interesting, well prepared, very tasty and reasonably priced. Surroundings equally good. One slight niggle was the main course took quite a while to come, but we were a behind a big group and it is a small outfit. Apologies were appropriately delivered.

I believe the restaurant is only open Fri & Sat eves.

Oh, a msg to Bury people: you have something unique here. Value it and ignore the chains!

Having been to many eating establishments once and perhaps being somewhat fussy, it has been fantastic to discover an independent establishment that bears repeated visits and has managed to deliver a consistently inventive overall experience and manages to get all the constituate elements so right. The friendliness and warmth of the staff, from owners down, the ambience and atmosphere of the building, especially at night, the wine choice, the fresh quality and variety of the food and the value. I have become a regular convert and have taken many people for an evening meal. All have been suitably impressed and have since returned under their own steam. Whether individual, in a small group, or large, always universally excellent. The only place i regularily return to in town.

This was the third time I had eaten at Saints with ex work colleagues and we are always made to feel welcome and staff go out of their way to help, whether that be changing creaky chairs, or choosing wine at a reasonable price. The downstairs is rustic, inviting and would probably be quite romantic if our table weren't so loud! However, from a vegetarian point of view I find the menu rather limited and disappointing, so much so that I blurted out "not risotto again?!" when I walked through the door and was confronted with the menu displayed on a blackboard. That was the only main meal option unless you chose the vege meze as a main from the starter list. It was nice, but having mastered Jamie Oliver's risotto recipe at home, it was no match! All in all the evening was enjoyable and a good time was had by all!
