The Wallow Bed and Breakfast
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Just got back from another stay at The Wallow, in fact, our fourth stay in four years. I'm pleased to report that the standards are as high as ever.
Mike and Linda could not be more helpful or accommodating and breakfasts are just what is needed to set you up for the day. With jams and marmalades all home made, fruit salad (much of which comes from the garden) and if you're lucky and Mike's hens are behaving, you might just get a new laid egg to go with a hearty "full English". With the garden, the newly lined swimming pool and your own suite of rooms, the Wallow is an ideal place to relax and unwind.

Stayed here for 1 night only unfortunately when I was working in the area. Suite of rooms included a large bedroom, large bathroom and lounge area complete with TV and woodburner.
All were warm and comfortable.

Hosts are friendly and helpful and you can walk around their 2 acre well-stocked garden.

Breakfast was generous and tasty. Full English or other things if you prefer.
I will definitely return if I am sent this way again.

Thank you for such a wonderful night's stay. We've now stayed in both units of The Wallow and can recommend this B&B without reservation. The annexe is extremely comfortable with the benefit of a cosy stove in the sitting area, making a very convenient area for relaxing on cold evenings. Close the curtains, shut out the world and let the magic of The Wallow work its wonders.
Mike and Linda are great hosts, catering for your every need without being over-attentive. Breakfasts are so varied, ample and beautifully cooked. The table groans with home-made preserves, honey and fresh garden produce, when available, all so attractively presented that the taste buds are titivated and appetite enhanced.
Linda is the main gardener with many on-going projects and plans for the future. Now is not the best time for gardens but it was still worth a quiet stroll with the sunlight dappling through the trees. The next visit will now be planned to experience those fantastic swathes of irises bordering the pond.

We enjoyed two nights in the 3-room garden suite, which as others have said is very large, private and comfortable. The lovely setting is amongst an amazing array of plants and beautiful large trees. A short stroll revealed a nice array of bird life. Linda and Mike are very friendly and helpful hosts providing a delicious breakfast to your order plus help of every sort. A short, easy drive gets you to Bury St. Edmunds. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed in a three room suite - there was a sitting room with a wood burning stove, a huge and beautiful bathroom, and a lovely comfortable bedroom which had the most comfortable bed I've slept in for a long time. The standard of accommodation is exceptional. Breakfast was also delightful - home made honey - and the hosts were friendly and interesting people to chat to. The location is rural, and you would need a car, but there are restaurants within walking or cycling distance.

With a self contained three room suite with our own front door (and key), this is so much more than your average B&B. And the hosts are warm, friendly and genuinely interested in their guests. Great breakfasts. Excellent value. It is right on the edge of town though,
so a car is advisable.

The hosts are really nice, the garden's fantastic (take a few minutes to explore it) and the breakfast is delicious. Highly recommended. Hope to go back.

Room Tip: ask for the orchard room - lovely views
