I had heard such good things since this pub had been taken over but was very disappointed when I went as part of a group for our Christmas meal! I was the last to arrive but still before booked time...had to wait about ten minutes before anyone came to the table when I ordered a drink then had to remind someone ten minutes later that I still had not got my drink! I was told that there was a large party in and they were busy! Surely if you are going to advertise Christmas menus, ask people to book and preorder food then there should be enough staff on hand to make every table feel important and receive the best service! The Christmas pudding had been microwaved for too long and was very hard and un eatable, the waitress was told about this and asked to pass it on but we had no feed back and had to ask for it to be removed from the bill. All in all not a memorable experience...except perhaps for the wrong reasons!

A lovely warm welcome from the staff in a gloriously cosy pub. Fabulous accommodation, top quality decor, fixture and fittings, all mod cons and lovely extra touches. Breakfast was excellent, wish we could have stayed for lunch as it looked AMAZING and such good value. We will be back!!!

Often go for Saturday morning breakfast and it is consistanty good. The food is prepared from fresh local produce, none of your supermarket rubbish. The service friendly and fast and the price is very reasonable. Can't comment on other dishes but if it's anything like breakfast then you won't be disappointed.
The ambiance is just write for this type of venue and it's very central location to the market square makes for a very good rest and recuperation spot.

For pub accommodation, this has to be one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in. Very stylish and luxurious with everything you could need. I only had breakfast, which was very good, but eat elsewhere for dinner.

The second time we have stayed here because the disabled room and access are very good. Parking is immediately outside your room. When we stayed the rates included a nice English breakfast. Free wi fi is good and location to village and shops good. On the downside cleaning needs to improve.we were there 6 days and the floor and rugs require a good wash. There appeared to be no management checking procedures of the cleaning
