We decided to eat out at the weekend last Wednesday and set about finding somewhere suitable in Bury St Edmunds. Most restaurants get booked quickly so with a few days to play with we didn't expect to have much trouble. Prezzo's is a favourite, we've eaten here before and at several other locations, Woodbridge and Newmarket being our favourites.
Even though we were booking in advance they only had 6pm or 9pm available. We opted for the 6pm and on arrival saw that a hen party and a birthday party had taken up quite a few tables between them, this might be the reason for the unexpected shortage of tables.
Nonetheless, we were shown to our table within a few minutes of our arrival and drinks order taken quite quickly. We chose the Pinot Grigio Blush, a rather nice Rose from the Via Nova label.
There were three of us in the party and we shared nachos and chicken wings to start with. All cooked well and very tasty. For the main meals my daughter had the Red pesto risotto and both my wife and I had the Pollo gorgonzola. Food was good and on reflection the portions were just right. We even had room for desserts!
The overall bill came to £90 which is slightly more than we'd expect to pay at a venue such as this but, we enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning again in the not too distant future.
Book well in advance here as it does get full very quickly.
