Description: We knowthat not everyone wants the same thing from a pub. You might want a pint of local real ale at the bar ... A bottle of wine and a grazing board on the sofas ... A meal in the dining room ... A really good coffee and a read of the paper ... Take your pick. If real ale is your thing, look no further. We offer our own Brewshed Best Bitter and Pale Ale plus a couple of guest ales. We're passionate about wine and have created an award winning list Which offers a selection of old favorites combined with some more unusual and quirky wines. The common theme is did we believe They Are all well made wines offering good value for money. Every single one of our wines are available by the glass (except some champagnes). On the food side, the emphasis is on good quality, seasonal produce and, wherever Possible, we source it locally. We love Sunday lunch and offer a great roast - bring the family or meet up with friends and catch up on your way. We're open from noon until late. So if you're in need of a locally roasted coffee in the afternoon, you know where to come. Free wi-fi is available Throughout the pub. What about the kids? Children are welcome in the bar before 6pm and 8pm in the restaurant but evenings are just for the grown ups. Our kids menu is Important to us. It is Aimed at children under 8 and each dish is freshly prepared. You can therefore order a roast pork or beef kids on Sundays. Where Possible, we are very happy to prepare smaller Portions from our main menu. Baby changing facilities, high chairs, activity sheets and crayons are available.

Lunched here Saturday 16 March. An efficient, clean, smart environment with full service in a pub and restaurant atmosphere. The restaurant, whilst in view of the bar, is segregated with its own waiting staff. Met by dedicated staff who offer to take coats, seat you in comfortable soft surroundings in order to study a fine gastro pub menu of locally sourced foods, which can be accompanied by an aperitif. The food menu is supplemented with a wide-ranging wine menu with wines by the glass (including Saturday size) or bottle, also accompanied by complimentary still or sparkling water. Diners are then shown to spacious well laid tables and starched cotton napkins. A completely unhurried affair attended by well-trained and efficient staff who remain attentive but not overly so. Instant bookings can be made on-line and menus are available to review. A smart but casual, experience with excellent varied value for money food that we have now repeated at least half a dozen times in varying size groups. Totally recommended and probably the best of many establishments we have tried in Bury St Edmunds!!

We needed somewhere for the family to meet for a lunch catch up and having passed The One Bull on many trips to Bury St. Edmunds decided that this could be the place. I booked on line and also phoned to see whether they could accommodate a five month old baby with push chair and received a lovely phone call back checking where they had placed our group in the restaurant to make sure the push chair would indeed be no trouble. All I can say, is what a treat. Very relaxed. White linen napkins (call me old fashioned but how fab). Lovely attentive staff. Nothing too much trouble. The food was excellent - all of us opting for starters with a traditional Sunday lunch to follow and then some of the party indulging in a pud. I had a taster of the rice pudding - yummy. The smallest member of the party was fascinated by the decor and entertained some other dinners with the occasional wave from the push chair. Baby friendly which made dinner much more pleasurable for her parents. We will definitely be returning to the One Bull. Thank you and thank all the staff for lovely Sunday Lunch.

Took 94 year old mum to the One Bull for mothers Day, with some charming friends, Mike, Jackie and their 2 sons. Mum loves the One Bull as the young staff are all so charming and cheery. She likes the cute lads on the bar, Kevin and Jacob,We had a lovely lunch, some delicous Hartenberg Wine and one of my favourite dishes Liver and Bacon. I know some folks dont like it, but it was nothing short of yummy, I also had the cheese board, a great selection of cheeses, mum had the chocolate and pear tart. Naomi runs a tight, organised ship and with Sean in the kitchen, its great. Its very popular so if you are going at weekends, please book a table, as they get filled very quickly.

Good food, fabulous wine list and lovely staff.
The atmosphere in the One Bull makes it a great place for a quiet drink or a relaxed meal.
Probably my favourite pub in town!

I had a really great dining experience here. The food was well above the average gastro pub. The menu offered imaginative choices and the liver I chose (with an accompanying cottage pie would you believe?) was perfectly cooked and plentiful. The dish was accompanied by a mixture of kale and leeks which turned out to be a clever combination. I followed with a cinnamon rice pudding which could have benefitted with a bit more cinnamon but otherwise had a real homemade taste and texture - far superior to Ambrosia/Muller rice.
Service was attentive and obliging. A great night out!
