Brighthouse Farm
Reviewed March 12, 2013

Just got back from a lovely stay at Brighthouse Farm - Odell who runs this could not be more helpful and really made our stay one to remember. The peace and quiet was much needed and the grounds with all the wonderful trees is truely heaven. We saw an array of different birds that we just don't see normally.

I have just phoned to re-book as I know we will be going there again & again.

I cannot recommend Brighthouse Farm enough - the grounds and the wonderful host Odell who by the way does scrambled eggs like I have never had before - just simply devine. You will leave refeshed and disapointed but only because you are leaving this idyllic place - it gets 5 stars from me and if I could give more I would.

We visited Brighthouse Farm initially because we had family camping on the (very well appointed and maintained) camp-site however we are certain to return for another relaxing break. We spent two nights in one of the courtyard rooms which is in the converted barns and a stones throw from the actual house. The room was very comfortable and I was especially delighted to find the bed was not the hard slab of concrete that you end up with in so many B&B's or hotels! The welcome was one of the warmest we have ever received and I felt sad to leave what felt like friends by the end of our stay. The setting of this gorgeous B&B is a plus, I lay in bed mesmerised by the quietness. The wonderful breakfasts certainly deserve a mention and it was enjoyable to have a different breakfast each morning (I sometimes find a full English everyday leaves you a bit bloated!) I can thoroughly recommend '2 egg omelette day'! Definitely a treasure of a B&B, visit it if you can and enjoy!

My partner and I have had the pleasure of staying at Brighthouse Farm for a few weekends just recently.

What started off as just a one night stop-off has turned into a regular visit; which has been made perfect by the comfortable and clean accommodation, charming and attentive hosts, delicious breakfasts and beautiful Suffolk countryside and walks.

Room Tip: We stay in one of the guest rooms across the driveway as it has its own terrace

Just returned back from a few days camping at Brighthouse Farm. Camping field is well maintained and flat (but beware of some areas with ant population!). Views are fantastic looking stright over the farmers fields across to the local village. There's excellent walking opportunities, and the paths are well maintained by the farmer. Showers and toilets are basic, but clean with plenty of hot water - might well become a little crowded in high season and are quite a walk from some areas of the campsite. Washing-up facilities ok, but freezer and fridge available for use. Lovely place to spend a few days with some great areas to explore nearby like Bury St. Edmunds, Lavenham & Long Melford. Good pubs in area too, making this a greeat place to stay..

Room Tip: Views over fields are amazing if you can get a site.

I found this place after an extensive trawl of the Net when I booked a last minute break to Suffolk. It's on the edge of a village and is a truly rural location! The Truin family are very welcoming and the breakfasts delicious (and enormous). We stayed in the new annex, a recently converted outbuilding, with en-suite wet room, which was lovely. We stayed four nights (Wed - Sat) and our sleep was only disturbed on the Saturday night by very noisy guests in the room above. Only real criticisms are that you have to pay in cash and there were no pubs within walking distance (but plenty within a short drive). My friend also complained about no mobile phone reception!

We found it a great base for exploring Suffolk, including nearby Lavenham and Bury St Edmunds. It's not too far for a day trip to Southwold either.

Have stayed here twice. The best thing about this B&B is the breakfast in the morning. Different every day and always great. Bedrooms are not bad, though beds are a little too soft. B&B is located on a farm with a nature trail nearby built by the owners. In the middle of nowhere but there are some great pubs just down the road and its very easy to reach neighbouring towns.
