We stayed at Rosemary Cottage at the recommendation of friends and are happy to pass that on. The cottage is billed as b&b though feels much more like a rental. It is old, has character and is completely self contained with its own kitchen, the ingredients for breakfast (all very high quality) are left for you to cook yourself.
Location is superb being at the end of the main street and two roads, say two-three minutes from the beach. Its also pretty much opposite a renowned fish and chip shop, the queues for this speaks for itself though I found them somewhat underwhelming.
Its certainly not the cheapest b&b but does have the feel of a 'premium' product. I also imagine Aldeburgh is a relatively expensive place to stay, there were lots of middle class holidaymakers around with wine bars and wine merchants (sometimes only selling wine by the case) appearing to outnumber the pubs.
Close to Snape Maltings and Orford - if you do nothing else spend half a day or so at Orford.
