“Excellent accommodation; with fabulous views”
Reviewed March 26, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

What a wonderful time we had! The accommodation was beautiful, lovely decor, well equipped and spotlessly clean. A great location set within the heart of this idyllic seaside town, with its stunning sea views and quaint courtyard this really was an excellent find.

Aldeburgh is a lovely little town for a holiday by the sea with plenty to do, great beach walks, sailing, and delightful golf course, plenty of individual shops, restaurants and traditional pubs. Its simple the best holiday we have had in Suffolk.

All in all, the Lookout is a lovely place to stay and we would definitely recommend booking a stay.

We very much look forward to returning to this lovely home from home in the not too distant future!

“Simply wonderful, totally unique and memorable.”
Reviewed March 21, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We are frequent visitors to East Anglia and often take family members including our two grandchildren to the Suffolk coast.

We booked The Lookout over the telephone but think that you can also book online.
Lisa met us and gave us a tour of her charming holiday apartment.
All rooms have been tastefully decorated to a high standard. Our favourite is the open plan kitchen, lounge and dining room. The room is light airy and the views are exceptional.

The Lookout stands out from other holiday lets because of its ideal location, simply breath-taking views and the little touches that make your stay special. The welcome pack, a lovely touch, includes your immediate necessities along with wine and nibbles.

Aldeburgh is special and totally unspoilt.

There are numerous restaurants but we particularly enjoyed The Wentworth and The Lighthouse. Our favourite pub was The White Hart which serves an excellent pint of Adnams.

We also visited the quay in Orford, which is well worth a visit.

The Lookout proved to be the perfect accommodation in a wonderful setting.

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed October 26, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

My partner and I stayed at The Lookout for 4 nights earlier this month. It was very last minute, we booked on the Saturday and arrived on the Sunday. Lisa made us extremely welcome. The property is superb, spacious yet cozy, furnished to a very high standard. The fantastic view of the sea make it even more special. Aldeburgh is a great place with plenty to do, great beach walks, delis and restaurants. Will we be back - too true we will!

“Suffolks best kept secret”

Myself and 5 other adults ranging from 50 - 82 yrs have recently returned from the Lookout after spending 7 wonderful days.
We were met on arrival and quickly shown around the accommodation after which we were left to our own devices.

The accommodation certainly has the wow factor. The views overlooking the sea are simply breathtaking. Having coffee in the morning with the French doors wide open and the sun washing all over you as you gaze over the sea will stay with me for a very long time.

Its all the little touches that make the Lookout stand out from the crowd. The excellent welcome pack was a lovely touch - this included fresh milk, 2 bottles of wine (one white (chilled) and one red), some nibbles and a box of chocolates. The decor is tastefully done with lovely pictures and ornaments throughout. Its location is a stones throw away from the moot hall and is in easy walking distance of the main high street. The free WIFI was another welcome inclusion.

Aldeburgh itself was absolutely beautiful; it had a distinct lack of tackiness.

We cooked fish freshly caught on that day and also had kippers which had been smoked in the shack on the beach. We loved the fish and chips from the high street, however, be warned, you may have to queue for a while. We dined at the Regatta which served lovely food in nice surroundings (Couldn’t get in at the Light House).

We visited the White Lion (Bar & Brassiere), The Brudenell, The Wentworth (Terrace Bar), Old Cross Keys, Pelican Bar, The White Hart and the Mill Inn.

The Brudenell served excellent South African Sauvignon Blanc and had a lovely area overlooking the sea. The White Hart is more of a locals pub however the Adnams beer served here was the best in Aldeburgh; they also allow you to eat your fish and chips from the chip shop next door. The Old Cross Keys seemed a bit past its best and the Pelican Bar and Grill lacked character. The White Lion was lovely but our favourite was the Terrace Bar in the Wentworth.

We also visited the Oysterage and Quay in Orford which is well worth a visit.

The Lookout proved to be the perfect accommodation in a wonderful setting.
Highly recommended.
