We stayed here for a Christmas party, so perhaps not an entirely typical stay. The hotel is quite traditional and has a slightly old fashioned feel. It is located right next to the sea. It also has a reasonably sized car park. Our room was a good size with a modern bathroom. The slight oddity was the electric heating which seems to detect when the room is occupied, making the room a bit cold on first entering. Service was generally ok and the breakfast was good.

I think Narvik06 must have stayed at a different hotel ! We stayed one night in November 2010, about the same time as Narvik06, intending to eat in town. The lashing rain made us explore the hotel's dinner menu ... and, dear reader, we stayed.
The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, efficient and attentive. The dinner menu was good, and the food lived up to it. we spent the time before (and after) dinner sitting by a roaring open fire. Our room was excellent, as was the breakfast.
Most of the other residents were elderly, and staying for longer than us, but it simply meant that the hotel was lovely and quiet. Everyone ate early and went to bed early.
The only thing I could find to comment on was that the free wi fi was eccentric, but they were aware of this and were working on it.

This hotel looks very promising, at first. The hotel restaurant lets the place down entirely. It's very poor in regard to both food and service. Restaurant staff treat you as if you are in a hurry. Most seem untrained. The table was too small even for two people. We had: soup with tough stringy leek floating in it. Four slices of carpaccio and a few bits of lettuce and they dare call it a starter! Dry pheasant and stringy haricots vert. Lamb consisting of 80% fat! We gave up after that and decided to eat well elsewhere on all other days.

Lunch in the Wentworth on a cold day is a great experience. Lovely dining room overlooking the North Sea. Menu very good with plenty of fresh fish. Very good service, quick and efficient. Choice of vegetarian dishes and desserts. You are never rushed here and can take you time.

A lovely experience of traditional dining.

Having stayed in a sea facing suite and due to the time of year there was plenty to do. Even from our room we could see the fishing boats being winched in to the shore and fish being sold from wooden huts. We had a perfect nights sleep and felt totally relaxed. Although it has been renovated it still has a feel that it has never changed. An established and comfortable "olde worlde" charm with modern facilities.
