Warm welcome from friendly staff and a real fire. Very reasonably-priced drinks and food. Interesting variety of beers available although we didn't try any. Light lunches and more substantial meals. Prompt service. Lovely thick mushroom soup with warm roll and lots of butter. Big baguette full of well-cooked bacon, crispy chips and a salad. All for £8.00. Would definitely visit again.

I visited the pub for a meal with friends last night. It was very welcoming, I remember entering the pub a few years ago and getting stared at by all the locals. Not the case this time.

There is also a lovely log burner which is great.

The only dissapointment was the low amount of Titanic Ales available. I was expecting quite a few as it is a titanic pub. However, Magners cider was on for £2 per pint which was more than adequate.

We both had lamb casserole in a big yorkie pud, with mash and veg. Nothing fancy about this, just good hearty food.

All in all, the bill came to £24 for 4 pints and two good meals. Who can complain at that?

Would certainly recommend for a good country pub. The bar man was also very cheerful and gave us good advice!

Its been a while since we visited the top pub, we were not disappointed, four of us went, On arrival the customers and staff were friendly, the chap behind the bar, was very happy to recommend the ales on offer even offering a sample, the waiting on staff were friendly and knew the menu off by heart, impressive, we didn't wait long for service the food was hot and good, my only complaint would be the tables are so small and low its impossible to get your legs under, and that's just me being me.

We shall be visiting the Top Pub again and would recommend it to our friends,
