“Location of the Staffordshire Hoard”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Took the kids here to see the Staffordshire Hoard when it was first found. There have a lot of activities going on all the time so check out there website if you are planning on visiting. There are interactive things for the kids to do and it is large enough to spend a few hours walking around and enjoying.

“Lots to see and do”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

The Potteries Museum is a great place to see the history of the area, with a great deal to interest children in the Natural History section, and a really great exhibition of Saxon Gold until late 2013.

“Entertaining Education”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

A lovely museum with a variety of works of art, pottery and a Natural History section which offers participation to children. There's a lot to see and do and the exhibits are thoughtfully presented to create maximum interest. The cafe is good and their oatcakes excellent! A must to try if you're from out of town.

“Ceramics section is top class”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

This place has several sections. The section on ceramics is second to none. There is plenty to look at and learn. It covers how the pottery industry works, how it has developed over the centuries and what is left in modern times. There are lots of elegant examples. Importantly (for me anyway) there is no assumption of expertise; some curiousity and appreciation of what a nice pot can look like is all that is needed. The biggest area is the modern stuff, with several donated collections.
