Front desk was welcoming, in fact everyone working here was pleasant. The room was very clean and quiet. Parking is free. Breakfast was crowded, but the staff kept things topped up and under control. For the money it's very good value.

Stayed here as a family of four 2A 2C at the end of March when we had the awful weekend of snow. We primarily stayed here to go to Alton towers however this ended up being closed all weekend due to the snow.

Check in at the hotel was good very pleasant young woman gave us a room on the 2nd floor. The room was clean with a double bed and a sofa bed made into another double the bathroom was clean with a good powerful shower. The rooms are cleaned each day with fresh towels given if required.

We went to have a drink in the bar area where if u show the card given to you at check in you get 10% off so a round of four drinks cost us just over £10 which I thought wasn't bad . The girl that had checked us in served us and was extremely helpful by giving us a map of the area and pointing out local attractions and supermarkets and giving us directions.

The breakfast was good for the price paid for the hotel with a good selection of cereals, pastries yogurt and fruit, cheese and toast also available was a hot option of sausages, beans and scrambled eggs with a good selection of teas and coffee and fruit juice

In all this hotel is well run with nice clean rooms if a little on the small side and a good breakfast included. It's about 25 mins to alton towers and we have already booked to go back in May

Booked 2 rooms. Staff extremely helpful. They didn't have time to make up sofa bed before we arrived and asked if they could make it up when we went out to dinner. Happily, gave us suggestions for places to eat. Rooms were plain and perfectly acceptable, as were the en suites. However, from time of checking in around 6pm until late, children/young people were running around the corridors on our floor and the floor above. It was so noisy and very irritating. Downstairs in the lounge were lots of adults obviously not supervising their children. In the morning breakfast was usual cereals, fruits, yoghurts, toast, muffins and cooked food of sausages, scrambled egg and beans.
In the morning we booked our 1 day park tickets with Holiday Inn. They worked out at £32 per adult instead of £46.20. This saved us £71. Then using sat nav, we drove to Alton Towers (took about 20 mins)

We stayed here for the night, before going to Alton Towers the following day. It is a good base for the theme park, being only 30 minutes drive away. It is very well situated just off the M6/A50.
We had an excellent room rate of £44 which included a very good breakfast. For the price, you could not go wrong. This is one of the best HIE's we have stayed in, with only the ones in the USA offering even better facilities and services. Car parking is free and appears safe.

Check In - Very friendly staff and efficient, I was impressed with the level of service and attention. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They had a lot to do and were multi tasking quite a lot as well, so a thank you.

Room - Very clean with a very comfortable bed and sofa bed. The bathroom was clean, tidy and had everything you would expect. We had a view over the main retail park area. The other side of the hotel faces the A50 so I don't know whether this would generate more noise ? The air con worked well also. The only 2 negative points and they are minor for the room in that the room is small and would be too small in my opinion if you had 2 adults and 2 children staying in it. Also the tv was one of the old style "box" sets. Being a PC member though, it was a nice touch to have complementary internet in the room for 4 hours. That kept everyone happy.

Evening meal - There is a Harvester next door, but if it is busy, the hotel can provide pizzas to guests, which were at reasonable prices.

Breakfast - Very good. Despite the hotel being full, it wasn't busy. Selection of cereals, toast, croissants, muffins, fruit, yogurt, eggs, sausage, beans. It did the job, it was of good quality and the coffee was not bad either.

Check out - Again no issues.

I would recommend this hotel when visiting attractions in the area or as a good stop off point as it's very well situated.

We visited Alton Towers in November and decided to make a weekend of it. I was looking for a cheap and cheerful hotel for the 3 of us to enable a relaxed and comfortable trip.
For only £42 we spent the night in the Holiday Inn Express. We booked a double room with sofabed. The sofabed was already made up when we arrived and the room set at a comfortable temperature.
The beds were comfy and the room and bathroom beautifully clean.
We had air conditioning, allowing a comfortable sleep and basic television channels to entertain the little one for the early start the next morning.
Breakfast was included. I'd recommend taking the hotel's advice as to timing of visiting the breakfast buffet as it became very busy as we were leaving.
The food was basic but nice enough and we all had our fill before checking out.
I would definitely stay in a Holiday Inn Express again based on my experiences here. Very impressed.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and 18 month old child.. When checking in the staff on the desk were really helpful.. During our stay my little boy was not very well, so I went to the desk where I was greeted by Sian and she said that someone, would come and change the covers for!! Within minutes becki arrived at my door to change the sheets, I told her I didn't expect her to do it, but she said its no trouble I have a child myself!! I just think it was really nice of both girls to be so helpful and always smiling. Would defiantly recommend to other family members.. Breakfast was really good too

I was staying whilst visiting university, it was convenient as located only a couple of miles away (although the traffic in the morning was a nightmare). It is located by the football stadium and a Harvester restaurant in an estate besides a busy road but there was no noise in the room. The room was large and clean, neat bathroom and great bed.

Upon check in, the hotel staff were very friendly and cheerful. The breakfast was a self service buffet and worked well. Good value for money and would recommend if you're looking for somewhere to stop over for one night whilst travelling, or visiting the uni.
