“Not very accommodating... And a bit whiffy!”
Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

The food is good, proper winter stodge and all home made, but there are two reasons that it's never my choice to go here - the rude inflexible owner (don't dare to ask to order something slightly different from the actual dish on the menu! Customer certainly isn't king here, which in this day and age I find alarming - he makes it pretty clear that if you're not happy about it, he really doesn't need your business) and it pongs a bit- you will smell of chip fat and onion rings all afternoon. Not pleasant!

“Consistent Quality”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

This has been for as long as I can remember, and remains my favourite place to eat. Through numerous visits the quality of fare and value for money remain exceptional. Tasty Stilton, Diane, Peppercorn, etc sauces make any steak a treat. The restaurant itself is an old public house that is no longer open to drinkers only, therefore making it a quiet relaxed atmosphere without intrusions from noisy one pinters passing through. Great range of real ales kept to the highest standard and a good choice of wines from the House special to more exclusive (and expensive) options. You gotta try it!

“Best STEAK in Town”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Having eaten in a number of outlets in the Potteries i found The Old Plough to be the best by far. As is the name "Old" Good OLD value standards in Quality,Service and Hospitality. Portion size? - Well lets say you don't need to stop at the takeaway on the way home. And what quality the Steaks. I'm told all meat sourced locally and cooked to perfection by Rob and his team. You are made to feel very welcome to be there and not just because they want your money. Such is their popularity you have to book 2-3 weeks in advance for Friday or Saturday nights. The worst bit about the Old Plough is when you have to leave.
A Very Well Done to Rob & Jane and all the gang.

“Works meal”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

This is the third time we have visited and the last. Party of ten asked if one lady, who can not eat alot could have a starter as a mains or a plate of chips. The man serving us was VERY rude and told us it wasn't a circus. The mains portions were the size of a starter and poor quality. Pub food at restaurant prices !!! Not asked on the night if we enjoyed the meal, if we were asked we would of complained.
