We booked our Christmas meal at Le Coq having been regular visitors for a few years now. We have always enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere, but our experience on Christmas Day was especially good.
The bar area is quite small for a pub, but never feels very crowded, even when it’s very busy, and you are never waiting long to be served. The staff are always friendly and attentive.
The food was really good, possibly one of the best meals I’ve had at Le Coq. We were particularly impressed given it was Christmas Day; sometimes when we’ve been out elsewhere for a holiday meal, you can get the impression that things are obviously pre-prepared and reheated, but the quality here was really top class. The beef was delicious and I especially enjoyed the honey, whisky and cream flummery for dessert.
Many thanks to John and his staff for a really enjoyable meal.
