Great place to visit. Educationally useful as shows how life was on victorian estate. Lots to see house, farm museum and gardens. Good loos.
Regularly used to enjoy a lovely circular walk along the canal from Milford, using the track from the Essex bridge, part of Staffordshire way, to stop off at the cafe before making our way back. We can no longer do this unless we buy an entrance ticket.
Shugborough is now in financial difficulties and staff recently made redundant. I visit lots of stately homes/gardens and have always thought that the cafe is where the money is made. The location of the cafe should enable locals to regularly support the cafe without gaining free access the other ameneties. Love to know if the decline started when these changes were made.
Like previous comment have had to cheat on the date. As a local been a while since I last viisited the paid attractions. I too also object to 'living' museums who charge same fee in middle of week when some of the attractions are not active.
