Great friendly welcome and service from chap with black beard but all staff really helpful. Rooms clean and good size. Unlike Premier Inn in Stafford had own breakfast area run by hotel so got the same standard of service and good food for a budget hotel - unlike the usual local pub/restaurant liked by Premier which often has dodgy service. Very highly recommended.

Arrived at hotel after a long day, greeted and quickly booked in and given directions to our room. Beautiful hot shower, comfortable bed, clean, tidy and quiet. Great for our overnight stay. The Breakfast is free at Express the only disappointment is they don't serve Bacon, other than that is it perfectly acceptable as a self service.

Room Tip: The rooms are on three levels and are accessible by a lift. We over looked the garden side so I think the traffic noise could not be heard.

Stayed on business and missed the turn to the hotel initially but it is conveniently located to J13 M6. The accomodation was comfortable and the reception team very helpful pointing out the dining options across the way. Breakfast was free and plenty of options available. I felt the bathrooms were clean but in need of some Tlc - I had to report an unpleasant smell from the bathroom sink when running the water on occasion and was advised that it was due to problems on the main road and was a known issue regularly reported which they were trying to keep under control. I would consider staying again if in the area.

I booked this hotel for one night as it was conveniently situated just off junction 13 of the M6, half way on our journey back from Berkshire to the North West, and looked like good value for money.

When we arrived, the Reception Manager was friendly and polite. He gave us a headsup that there was a Rugby group staying at the hotel, and advised us to plan our breakfast to avoid the 'rush' in the morning.

Our room was clean, tidy and already had the sofabed laid out for us, which was great, as we were exhausted after a long day.

The bed was very comfy, and we all had a great night's sleep.

The free WiFi was also good to have!

The next morning when we went down to breakfast, it looked like the Australian Youth Rugby group were up earlier than expected, but the hotel staff weren't at all fazed and managed everything very calmly, keeping all the breakfast buffet topped up.

One of the staff members was also kind enough to ask my son if he'd like a colouring sheet, which kept him busy whilst I read the complimentary Sunday newspaper.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely come back again in the future - especially as it's so close to a couple of theme parks!

This was a return visit to this hotel. I chose it for its proximity to the M6 and easy access to north Birmingham. It's one of the few Holiday Inn Expresses that I've stayed in recently that hasn't been refurbished and it does feel a bit tired and dated. Having said that it was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My room felt dull even with every light on. There was gaffer tape over a hole in the bathroom door. Only one available socket (I disconnected the kettle to get a second). The bathroom had the old HIE set-up of a triangular sink with very little room to sit toiletries. All this has to be balanced against a good location and that the prices are very reasonable. I had a good night's sleep and a good breakfast. WiFi was free and reasonably fast.

Room Tip: All rooms are pretty much the same. Despite being next to the motorway, road noise isn't an issue

We appreciate you taking the time to review your stay with us, it's saddening to see you felt the hotel was dated as the bedrooms have recently been refurbished and bought in line with some of the newer designs available throughout the express brand. We do however apologise for the broken door, we are very much aware of this and have organised a replacement as soon as possible.
