Description: A classic country pub overlooking the village green. From our gardens you can hear the knock of leather on willow when the Longdon Green cricket team take the field, and we have a real sun-trap of a terrace which is a fine place for a spot of lunch with friends and family.

We booked for a party of 30+ people to celebrate three family landmark birthdays and everyone had a terrific time.
We were able to agree a menu that suited all dietary requirements beforehand and all of the comments re the food served was highly complimentary.
Obviously, food standards were high but this was complimented with exceptional service from the staff with minor problems being dealt with efficiently and without fuss.
I would recommend you book here if you have a large party booking, but equally a quiet table for two has worked for us.

All the meals were good, tasty and well presented. The sea trout was particularly good and I definitely would order again. Staff polite and friendly. Hope to return in the near future.

The service was terrible, dirty tables, anyway we ordered food it took 30 minutes for the main course pie and sausage, it was like weatherspoons microwaved, very disappointed as it was very expensive, good job it's on the expense account or I would not paid.
The place needs to be refurbished I won't be back, neither will anyone at my company of 70 employees.

We celebrated a family birthday here on a Saturday afternoon. The pub itself is lovely, with an open fire pit in the middle of the spacious dining room.
However, we found the food and some of the service rather underwhelming. Not all the main meals or deserts came out at the same.time, so some of us started whilst others were still waiting. when theains.did arrive, they were warm, not hot.
Our main waitress was lovely and friendly but one waitress who helped bring out our food was less so.
Overall for the price we paid, it was quite disappointing. Lovely setting but don't think I'd be back for food again.

Visiting my son and needed somewhere for an early new years eve meal.
We ate in the restaurant, five of us alongside a larger, lively party. Service was excellent, a mixed tapas board for a shared appetiser was interesting and well cooked. Steaks were tender; unfortunately my daughter's blue steak was cold but this was rectified without any fuss. My son received the wrong burger but again this was replaced, free drinks provided and his food was taken off our bill without any fuss. Chunky chips and onion rings accompanying the meal were lovely and we were too well fed to tackle any desserts.
We had a very pleasant evening and would return again if we were in the area.
