we always go to jaipur when passing through alrewas on the boat. Always good, plenty of food, plenty of variety. Staff attentative but not on top of you. Chosen wine not available but as we are over 18 were perfectly able to choose an alternative. Popadoms and chutneys very tasty. We had chilli garlic lamb, veg bhuna, muttar paneer, and garlic naan. All very tasty.

We go here nearly every other Friday night and have done for a few years.we take our six year son who was in a high chair when we first took him.he loves it and all the staff make a fuss of him every time we go.we go because it is local, cheap and have never had a bad meal.now and again the service can be a bit slow when it is busy but that never bothers us.

I ate alone on a Tuesday evening and had poppadoms to start with rather over sweet but bland chutneys. A mixed tandoori started was big but actually pretty tasteless and left me.disappointed. The main course was a lamb special dish with a tarka dall and garlic nan. There was plenty of it but unfortunately the bland theme continues and in addition, the lamb was tough and tasteless. I asked for my meal to be madras hot but it was sweet, very tomato rich and very bland with no real spicing to speak of. The tarka dall was just dall - none of the sublime roasted nutty flavours from a good garlic tarka and the bread was very large and very well made but for me inedible as it was again full of sugar. I am of the firm opinion that white sugar is not an ingredient that belongs in asian cooking and especially not in a lamb curry. The chef here obviously disagrees.
