“CAN'T FAULT IT”
Reviewed April 23, 2010

From the moment of arrival the staff were polite, professional, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, with all the facilities you would expect. The towels and bedding changed daily, were fresh and clean and obviously quite new. Tea and coffee facilities are topped up daily in the room, and of course the huge flat screen tv was a bonus. Reception staff were efficient, and even put out a bowl of sweets for you to help yourself. The bar staff second to none, and with the compliments of the hotel, you even get a free pint! The breakfasts are out of this world. There is everything on offer, you could want, there is no way you go hungry in this hotel. The restaurant staff were very good, as soon as you sat down, they appeared asking if you wanted tea or coffee, taking your cooked breakfast order, and delivering your toast whilst it was still warm. One afternoon we popped back to the hotel, and were immediately asked if we would like complimentary tea or coffee in the bar, and it comes complete with chocolate biscuits. With the cleanliness, the friendly staff, and all the little added touches, it really does make for a brilliant stay, can't fault it, one of the best places we have stayed. Well done everyone at the hotel, and thanks for making our stay so pleasant and memorable. See you soon.

We found this hotel on the internet and booked it as a base for visiting Lichfield Cathedral and getting to know more about it's illustrious history and forefathers. We certainly weren't disapointed, from the moment we entered the hotel we were made very welcome by Billy and Claire - the owners. The room and en suite were excellent and the bed very comfortable. The food prepared by Wayne, the chef, was to a very high standard and we would certainly use this hotel again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Val and Alan - Corby

I stayed for one night whilst on business in the Burton/Lichfield area. The owner checked me in and offered a free drink at the bar, which was a nice touch. I stayed on in the bar to have a few more drinks and some food. The food and the service was excellent as was breakfast the following morning.

My room was booked as a premier/executive room, which for the price was far better than other so called premier/executive rooms from other hotels I have stayed at in the Burton/Derby/Lichfield area.

Overall a very pleasant stay, I will be back. I have recommended this to colleagues who frequently travel to Burton as they like myself have tried all of the Burton hotels and then looked outside of the town for better accommodation. It took less than 20 minutes to get from Lichfield to the office in Burton, so no problems here either.

A big tick in all of my boxes for a business trip hotel, good size room with a sofa, a good bathroom and shower, good bar and pub food and plenty to choose from at the breakfast table.

Well done to the staff at Cathedral Lodge

Currently staying at the Cathedral Lodge. wasnt expecting it to be as great after reading some reviews here but it is really good! Staff are all reall friendly even at 2am! I'm in a basic room and it's really good compared to travel lodge, holiday inn etc. Shower is good, really big tv with sky sports in which is good as well as really quick free wireless internet included too.. Rooms are turned over every day with new towels, beds made, and tea coffee biscuits etc every day too. For what you pay, these guys really do go the extra mile!

The bar is really well layed out and the beer is top notch. The manager is a really good guy, first pint i got was on the house, bought the next one then came back fo my third (we dont get good beer where i come from) and the manager said it's on the house. I informed him i'd already had my free pint and he said well have one anyway for being honest! I've never been to a hotel where the management and staff are so friendly before.

Food is really good too, breakfast top qulaity, dinner really good too.

all in all, a very nice stay at the Cathedral Lodge and a pleasant surprise, i would recoommend to anyonw.
