The Cathedral Hotel
Ranked #6 of 7 Hotels in Lichfield
Reviewed May 1, 2014

We stayed at the Cathedral Lodge for the first time in several years (it was previously the Little Barrow Hotel) for one night en route to a family gathering. The welcome was warm and friendly, even including a complimentary drink at the bar. The room was clean, a reasonable size and the bathroom was refurbished with an excellent shower. Breakfast hit the spot to round off the stay perfectly.

Stayed here at the last minute , staff are very welcoming and friendly, food was loverly and a good portion. Maybe required a bit updating but not put of visiting again the room I had was clean with a comfortable bed. All sport channels available which is a plus for me only one bad point is the head porter / manger he was making the other staff feel small by moaning about everything which should not be done on front of customers he does seem to the odd one out ...

My wife and I stayed here on 27th March 2014 in room 301, the room was quite large and clean the staff are great nothing is too much trouble they are very friendly. We did not have our evening meal here so I cannot comment but the cooked breakfast was brilliant they offered us a glass of champagne with the breakfast but I had to go to work so could not have it. Would stay here again.

This is a very nice hotel, with nice rooms, nice bar, nice staff, free parking, nice location.... everything could be so nice excepting one point that everyone know... the very very bad water pressure in the bathroom.

Also the slim curtains that let the sun going early into the room...

We stayed here while attending a dinner and presentation evening. It is a great venue for this because it is easy to get to and has all you need. The staff were great, making us welcome right from the start. The rooms have everything you need, ours was very clean too. Ok, maybe they are starting to show their age a little, but so am I! The function room was well suited to our event and, refreshingly for a hotel, the bar prices were pretty reasonable. Their were one or two moans about the food, but we thought it was fine. To finish it all off, breakfast was brilliant. Fresh fruit and a lovely freshly cooked breakfast. So to sum it up, nice place offering great service and good value.
