“How you've changed!”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

I previously knew this building as a prep school. One of my old colleagues reminded me that she had taught in every single room on the ground floor! What a wonderful surprise to find that it has changed into a special, inviting, comfortable and stylish place to stay. We came up from Bath for a party and low and behold St Johns! I cannot recommend it highly enough. Breakfast too was delicious and beautifully presented. Ros who looked after us was attentive and helpful, a delight! So now we know where to stay every time we come back to Lichfield.

My dad, my partner and I stayed at St Johns House for 4 days in late May while we explored the area and my partner photographed at the Cathedral.
Unfortunately there's little I can add to the previous reviewers.
The accommodation is quite simply superb.
The beds were super comfy and luxuriously high.
Our host couldn't have been more helpful or friendly.
The breakfast was easily the best I've ever experienced at a B&B (even other Luxury B&B's)
There was v. convenient parking and the location of the property is perfect for exploring the town.
Go on, treat yourself. You won't regret it!

I was part of a group staying for two nights. The quality of the food at breakfast and dinner was outstanding. Very high levels of service could not be faulted and the rooms were well appointed. If you seek excellence and luxury at sensible prices you should indeed look no further.

We stayed here last weekend for my birthday, and it was everything i'd hoped for and more! We stayed in the Tottingham room in the main house and it was fabulous, we loved the huge bath in the bedroom and the big comfy bed. The 'wine of the month' in the room was fabulous and very reasonable at £14.95 a bottle- we even bought an extra bottle to take home! The breakfast choice is great and the food was amazing. Dan and Elly are wonderful hosts, and their staff and their children are all so friendly. All in all we LOVED it, and will certainly be returning in the future.

Room Tip: I looked at a few of the other rooms, and the Tottingham room was definitely a great choice!

Stopped off here overnight on our way to a wedding in Berkshire. Chose St.John's based on previous reviews. Glad we did - lovely old historic building, being beautifully restored by owners - really nice couple, who are making a great job of the renovation. They booked us a table at a local restaurant, and gave us a guided tour of the building next morning (after a fantastic breakfast). If you're going to Lichfield, you can't go wrong in staying here. We stayed in the Garden Room in the coachhouse, which was spacious and nicely restored, with a door out to a nice private garden (if only the weather had allowed us to sit out). Spot on all round.
