Had a lovely meal here in January with friends, sat near the open log fire, lovely as it was bitterly cold and snowing outside ! The meals we had were all excellent and reasonably priced. More of a restaurant than a pub, although there was a small bar area where you could just have a drink and a chat. Will visit again for certain.

5 of us ate at this Pub/Restaurant on a Tuesday night in early November. The tables were all full and there was a great ambience. Somehow the two guys serving managed to keep everybody happy with their attentive and friendly service. The food was great, I particularly enjoyed my steak (served Medium Rare and cooked to perfection). This is high quality pub food, cooked simply and promptly Plenty of choice on the menu and wine list. Expect to pay about £25 a head for two courses and wine. The beers not bad either.

Me and my partner visited the fountain on the 2nd day of our holiday. Most of the places we had looked at in the local area were really expensive but this place was really quite reasonable. I had chilli con carne with rice and cheese topped nachos which was really tasty and the portion was more than enough. My partner had the quiche with new potatoes and salad, which was homemade and tasted lovely. We had two mains, two desserts and drinks which cost £35, and I can't fault the staff who were all friendly and the food came out piping hot and in good time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, it's a real hidden gem!

We went to The Fountain Inn on a Monday evening, as they have a 2 for £12 menu which proved to be very popular with the locals. The menu had a nice variety of dishes to choose from, which included the usual variety of pub meals. Service was quick, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The food was homemade, which is always a winner with us. We enjoyed eating here, and spent around £30 on 2 meals, a glass of wine each, and a desert.

There was always a lively atmosphere each time we walked past The Fountain Inn, but on a Monday evening I would recommend reserving a table as it gets busy very quickly.
