Rang up to book a table and were told they could fit us in at a certain time. When we arrived we were greeted by surly staff who complained we were late (despite the fact it was only by two minutes and there were loads of empty tables). That set the tone for the evening and the service didn't really improve. There was no house wine, the menus had pages missing and were dirty and worn. On top of that, the only other group who were eating there had a big row with the guy behind the bar, which was not good.
The table was laid out nicely, which was a positive. As for the food, it arrived on the table within minutes of it being ordered (which is great if you like fast food), but didn't fill me with confidence that all was fresh. As it was, the food wasn't anything special - just ordinary pub fare - probably a bit overpriced for the quality.
Wouldn't rush back, which is a shame because we used to go there all the time a few years ago.
