I have been twice to this Wetherspoons, once for lunch shortly after it opened and once on a Friday evening for a drink. The décor is attractive and it seemed to be kept pretty clean. The food was what I expect from a Wetherspoons and was delivered quickly and by a pleasant member of staff. As you would expect in Wells, it was very busy because this is by far the cheapest pub in Wells so is popular.

On visiting on a Friday night there was the inevitable large number of young people drinking but a pleasant atmosphere although very loud - we could hardly hear one another speak across the table. Still good service and ok evening.

As a family we have eaten at the Quarter Jack 4-5 times since it's opened, and the first time was great, however the hygiene and service has slipped significantly.

On our last visit the table we sat at was thick with a sticky substance and food littered underneath the table, the carpets were filthy and the view to the beer garden showed a mob of drunks (some smoking with their babies).

We decided to move tables which was slightly cleaner than the last however I wasn't prepared for the ghastly meal that was bought out. I ordered the Ham, egg and chips and the two eggs were burnt and the yokes cracked (they honestly looked disgusting) my little boys was the same and he didn't want to eat it.

If you can't cook an egg you really shouldn't be working as a chef in my view. Also I am not alone as others have said that the restaurant has gone right down hill since opening not to mention the fact that fights keep breaking out and then we have to hear about it in the local paper.

I had gone off Wetherspoons as the quality seems to have deteriorated over the past few years, but this one was a pleasant change. All the staff seemed helpful and we'll trained and the food was quick and tasty even though the restaurant was very busy. A welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Wells.

Good value for money. Quite busy but staff happy and helpful. Some good deals of meals with free drink. Had 3 meals here during our stay in Wells, no complaints with our meals, but did notice on last visit that some of food not taken from serving hatch very promptly. This led to some people sending meals back.
Apparently this is a new pub/restaurant and has been well designed with excellent outside space.
Will come again.

This Wetherspoons pub has just opened in January 2014 & what a gem it is. The real ales selection is superb - great couple of pints of Pitchfork! Food is the usual good value 'spoons fare.
It's very well laid out and has excellent facilities although it's a bit of a trek to the loos upstairs.
A really good addition to the already excellent choice of hostelries in Wells.
