Well worth the walk to the top, which can be hard going for the unfit...you can see the Tor and the most beautiful Somerset countryside. Best to wear good walking gear and take a bottle of water.

This is a very interesting and lovely walk though quiet woodland and close to Wells with parking (follow directions on the Ebbor Gorge website). The views all around the countryside at the top are quite amazing on a clear day. There is a shorter walk suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs but if you embark on the others, be aware there are a lot of steep steps involved. I would also add to the others commenting about 'scramble up the gorge' that it is in fact extremely challenging, especially if it's been raining and rocks are wet. I'm fairly fit and found myself at time grabbing the rocks with my hands and pulling myself up. But it is very doable (and interesting) as long as one is prepared for this.To avoid this bit of the climb (but still get to the top), follow the path signposted to the gorge until you get to another sign directing you around to the left. Instead, veer to the right until you see a sign which is signposted to Priddy. This is an upward walk with steep but easier steps that will also get you up to the viewing point. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

After leaving Chedder and Wookey Hole behind there is a perfect walk [about 1hr] around Ebbor Gorge. Free parking and picnic spot at top of the hill. Ancient woodlands and many species of plants to admire.

Excellent walk straight from B & B through this lovely gorge and up to the village of Priddy. 8 mile walk but an excellent pub in Priddy to have a break and sustenance!!
