We've been here twice for Sunday lunch which we've enjoyed both times. The menu is quite varied with plenty of veggie options as well as traditional options. the prices are reasonable and overall the value for money good.

The interior of the pub is nicely done out and cosy with a real log fire in the main bar. The only critism is that both times we've been the pub has been very quiet and lacking in atmosphere.

having visited here last year and enjiyed ourselves we had high expectations for our return visit. sadly we were disappointed. i order tiger prawns with sweet chilli dip and received ten tiny prawns with lemon sauce, including chunks of rind which were so rubbery that i couldn't chew them! we later had the cheese platter to share which seemed very expensive for three pieces of cheese and a bit of salad and pickle. we did complain the the manager who waived the charge for the food and offered us a complimentary drink. sadly we couldn't stay for the drink as it took so long for our food to be served.
the pub was clean and the manager very friendly and helpful. we will visit again but not for food.

We booked for an evening meal and found the quality of food and service to be excellent! Vegetarian options are on the menu and the food is good value for money. The staff are very friendly and we would advise you to book in advance!

Firstly the welcome was very warm and friendly. Beers were excellent and well kept with a good choice of real ales. My wife and I ordered the specials. I had the belly pork which was very good but the crackling (the best part) appeared to have been removed. The dauphenoise potatoes served with it and the side of vegetables were excellent. My wife had the pollock but sadly this was overcooked and very dry. The crushed new potatoes were not crushed and could have done with a knob of butter to give them some moistness. Overall a very, very dry dish. She was a little disappointed. That said we would go again and give it a second chance. A nice friendly pub with reasonably priced food.
