Arrived in downpour on Valentine's night. Warm, friendly and welcoming. We were treated to a special set meal with good choices for a full house of patrons.

Starter was the best spring roll I've ever had - chicken and leak filling bursting with african flavour and light crisp batter. Well presented on zany crockery in a pleasant light and airy table with sun shine breaking in the large glass windows. Made me feel that spring has sprung and that life is worth living - at last.,

My wife - a dessert chef herself - complimented the lemon posset with berry and shortbread whilst my main course (ham hock and pea risotto with tarragon) was delicious. Good range of wines and local beers and friendly service all contributed to a great day sight seeing in Wells.

My only criticism was the fish cake which my wife chose as her main course. It would have been easy to "spice it up" and lighten it with a touch of salmon and herbs ( and fusion spices?). Cheaper too since salmon is cheaper than cod these days - although there wasn't much cod in the fish cake. It was bland and stodgy in comparison with the rest of the dishes we ordered. So a small blip in an otherwise given excellent menu.

Tucked in the corner of the car park in the centre of the city. Therefore very convenient, since we arrived in a cloudburst. Blinds all drawn create an intimate evening atmosphere. Diners coming and going on a Tuesday evening, so clearly popular; rightly so. Wine bin ends are good value. Nicola is keen to be as helpful and efficient as needed. She showed us the wonderful upstairs function room for future reference, when asked. It was our anniversary and we shall take our young folk later in the year. Enjoy BEAH.

Very tasty food - we went for the North African option, complimentary jug of water on the table as soon as you take your seat and very friendly and competent service.
